Taylormade M2 Driver Review 2021
TaylorMade’s M2 Driver review will discuss the benefits and drawbacks of this device so that your decision is based on facts.
Geocoustic technology was used on the TaylorMade M2 Driver. It changed how the sole looks, as well as the sound and feel. This Driver has what TaylorMade calls explosive sound. (they aren’t kidding!)
For optimal performance and forgiveness, it is important to fix the Center of Gravity and place it low and back.
Although the M2 Driver has some adjustment, it is not as extensive as other models.
Speed Pocket technology can be found in this club. The Speed Pocket was further refined to enhance forgiveness with Taylor made M2 drivers.
Even though the M2 Taylormade Driver Golf Cart is an outstanding piece of equipment, it can still be confusing. We’ll explain it a bit more to ensure it’s the right fit for you.
Player Handicap
It’s not to say that a scratch golfer couldn’t use the M2, it’s just that it was designed for golfers who seek forgiveness more than playability.
You may not want this driver if your goal is to make the ball work and draw off each tee. The Taylormade M2 in 2017 is perfect for high-handicapper golfers.
The TaylorMade M2 is the only TaylorMade option that comes with an adjustable loft sleeve.
This is because TaylorMade made clubs in the past that allowed you to shift the center of gravity.
The ability to modify the loft in the M2 and have it launch to your desired launch is an excellent feature. The adjustability of loft is a fantastic feature for new players looking to improve their performance.
We mentioned the M2 driver in our Driver review earlier. It is quite old. Although it is still being offered directly through TaylorMade the custom shafts options can be a bit limited.
There are many shaft options available, and the good news is that they’re all good. The standard equipment on this golf club is the Fujikura Pro XL 58, in either the Regular, Stiff or Senior Flex.
There are other options
TaylorMade M6 The TaylorMade M6 Driver is longer than the M2. This is about as forgiving as it gets, but at the time of writing the review, the price was almost twice.
If you are playing an old TaylorMade Burner Driver that is several years old, the M2 is going to improve the feel and weight considerably.
The M6 is a great option if you don’t have the budget for the best technology. The sound is also a little better with the M6 model.
Get Price: Cleveland Launcher turbo
The Cleveland Launcher Turbo was released in a different release to the M2 but is also a very similar product as far distance and forgiveness go.
Launch Turbo comes in at the same price as its predecessor.
Launcher gets a name as more of a beginners golf club than the M2 but it’s a very comparable option to consider.
Sound & Feel
TaylorMade M drivers have more than just adjustability. Here’s a 2017 M1 overview to help you compare them. Both have a more firm feel to their faces, but the M2 seems stronger. This feels different, but it’s equally impressive. The M2 is responsive and powerful, but it feels soft on the ball. Your personal choice will dictate which of the two you choose.
The M2’s sound, much like its feel is louder. Although the sound of the M2 is not as loud and clear as the traditional driving range sound, the carbon crown gives it a pop. The result is a clear shot from the face that sounds solidly pounded down range.
By using a new sunken sole curvature to make it stiffer, the new acoustical engineering breakthrough was made. The sole curvature makes it less susceptible to vibrations caused by impact. To achieve the highest-quality sound and feel, M2 needed minimal externalized sounds ribs.
Taylormade M2 Driver: An Honest Review

Although I wasn’t always a fan of Taylormade clubs, I was very excited to see the M series driver. This post will review the Taylormade M2 drivers and discuss whether it is worth getting.
M2 was a much better driver than M1 for the reason that it was so easy to hit. This driver can be used by golfers that need extra distance or forgiveness. The club gave me a great distance and was much more patient than other drivers on off-center hits. The only downside I could see was that it’s still a bit expensive for a driver that’s a couple of years old. The driver would work well for the average recreational player.
If I had to choose, I would spend more and buy a newer driver. Although the M2 was great there are some drivers still at a similar price that I found to be more reliable and performed well for me.
Top Golf Drivers for Mid Handicappers
Performance
Many players like the TaylorMade M2 review because of its simplicity. It has twelve setting options, making it the most adjustable. Players want the best results, without having to mess with excessive equipment. The performance of the M2 driver is superb according to the recent experience. M2 is not a simple product. M2 clearly shows a hardworking, durable design.
It has an increase in speed and distance. The 2017 M1 driver is less patient than the 2016 M2, who was highly praised for its great forgiveness. Even with the enormous strides, it is still marginally behind the M2.
This is why most professionals now prefer the M2. A lot of amateur golfers find help in hitting a natural fade due to new draw-bias weight position that the driver provides.

In my latest driver review, I hit TaylorMade’s 2017 M2 driver and discuss how it may or may not improve your game from the tee.
How good is The Taylormade’s M2 driver?
The M2 DType feels and sounds good. It is also easy to draw for those with a tendency to spill the occasional drive or miss the mark. Overall then the 2017 M2 driver is an improvement on the previous version and, for around the same price difference of PS110, offers you the looks and performance of an M1 for less.Dec 9, 2016
Are You a Beginner with The Taylormade M2Drive Driver?
TaylorMade’s TaylorMade 2 is now even more affordable. The M2’s combination of power, value and forgiveness has placed it in fifth. This driver is for the competent beginner. He or she is working towards a lower 20 handicap. It offers good forgiveness, a slightly lower and more powerful ball flight than others in our review.Sep 27, 2021

Which M2 Driver Is Best?
The Fujikura XLR8 Pro 51 is the best shaft for the TaylorMade M2 Driver. The shaft’s ideal properties include a great launch, mid-to high spin, and high launch. You can upgrade this shaft if your Fujikura was discontinued because of its kick.
