Ben Hogan Gs53 Max Driver Review

Ben Hogan Golf seems to have been on a tear lately and that trend isn’t likely to stop anytime soon. The brand has found its niche in direct to customer markets. THP readers who have read the site for a while will be familiar with the reviews of their new releases, including the ICON and GS53 drivers. The nice thing is they haven’t sat on their hands idly like they could have, instead they are not just creating new product, but clubs that make the game more enjoyable for golfers.

The Ben Hogan Golf GS53 Max driver was released recently. I was able to get the 10.5deg head paired with a Project X HZRDUS Smoke Black 6.0 in for this review and having written the previously mentioned review on the GS53, I can assure you that this is not just a more forgiving rehash. This review is a unique and special experience for Ben Hogan Golf.

Quick Take There is no modern driver that offers more bang-for-buck. Although the GS53 was a reliable driver, this driver is exactly what Ben Hogan needed. Although it may seem a bit boisterous, the GS53 is surprisingly forgiving and a great low spinner. Look, playability, distance, and value are all here.

Ben Hogan, GS53 Max Driver It is similar with the GS53 Max Driver…kinda.

Company claims this is the classic shape that Mr. Hogan would approve of. However, it’s still a surprise to me that Mr. Hogan would be able to see it.

At 460cc the GS53 Max is 15cc larger than the GS53, and while on paper that doesn’t seem like much, in hand it definitely is noticeable. The Max increases the depth and size of the addresses profile by 22%.

The company maintains internally that this is not a rework of the GS53. Rather it’s a brand new design, built entirely from scratch. This was simply designed visually to match the existing wood products. You won’t find any flaws in the design. Even though it’s less busy than a lot other drivers, it fits perfectly with Ben Hogan’s style. Not to mention, the mirrored BH logo as an alignment aid is gorgeous.

Clubtest 2021: Ben Hogan Gs53 Drivers

ClubTest2021 featured 22 brand new drivers that we reviewed and tested to make sure you get the right driver for you. Read more about ClubTest 2021’s testing process here. The Ben Hogan GS53 Drivers Results are below. Here is the complete list of Ben Hogan drivers. A half-century later, it’s only fitting that the GS53 (named in honor of Hogan’s famed ’53 campaign) carried a similar swagger into ClubTest. A tester stated, “It is no nonsense through.” It’s easy to use, it feels great, and goes a long distance. This is a simple choice.

All of our market picks are independently selected and curated by the editorial team. A fee may be paid by GOLF.COM if you purchase a link product. There may be a variation in pricing.

You won’t find any surprises with the GS53, particularly on the crown. Engineering has made the GS53 more innovative by placing the CG higher and further forward to increase clubhead speeds while allowing for greater penetration trajectories.

Detail: This is a driver how it should look. To ensure consistent performance from heel to tip, the 445cc titanium-bodied longstick has a forge clubface that can be adjusted in thickness. You won’t be surprised by the GS53’s traditional driver design, especially on the crown. This is because the Hogan team insists on it. The real innovation comes from the inside. Engineers created a higher and forward-looking CG in order to achieve better clubhead speeds.

This iconic swing will never fade… The 1953 company that Hogan started is dedicated to living up the principles of Mr. Hogan; the clubmakers are committed to making clubs that are ‘as close as modern-day instruments can perform’.

The Ben Hogan G53 Driver Review, July 4, 2020 by 03TRDBlack Intro. Follow me on Instagram! Follow @rob.c.slade on Twitter at @robslade First, and foremost, I would like to hear the 03trdblack sound clip. Funny story: My wife and I are currently in hospital while she has our first child. Tomorrow will be my new baby boy’s dad, hopefully!

Review: 6/17/20 – Ben Hogan’s GS53 Driver. Official MGS Forum Review by Cciciora13. Intro. First off, thank you Ben Hogan and MyGolfSpy Mods. MyGolfSpy was a favorite of mine for years. I am glad to have found my place here on the forum. It’s a lovely place for discussing all aspects of golf.

My background:

Chris, for those of you who aren’t familiar with me. I am currently 26 years old, and live in Chicago. I am a physical therapist by trade, but have always had a love for golf. I have golfed since the age of 5, when my dad introduced me to the game, and he continues to be my favorite playing partner. I have never received a formal lesson although I did play golf in High School and then played on the club golf team in the NCCGA (lots of drinking between rounds) at Marquette University. My girlfriend/soon to be fiance currently resides in Milwaukee, WI which I will soon be making my home in the fall, so I play some great courses between the two spots! I used be more concerned about the golf game when I was playing competitively. But now, my main goal is to simply enjoy the game and get as many points as I can.

My Video:

I’ve never carried an official handicap, but I would judge that I am between a 12-13. I typically shoot in the low 80’s for a round of 18 with a really good day getting me in at 78-79. The courses that I frequent are typically between 6300 and 6500 yards. I’ve always thought of myself as a straight hitter. The ball is always in play so I try to keep it there. But, my dad says that I can hit some bombs LOL. Driver swing averages 100-105 MPH. He has a medium-height ball flight. My average distance from the tee is 260-265 yard. I’m more concerned about accuracy than the distance, and this is usually my goal when driving. This game is so much easier from the short grass. My second shot is usually at a reasonable distance, so I can hit my wedge to the pin. Par 4’s are usually played with 7-8-9 irons. It all depends on distance.

Use this link to share the review of Hogan GS53 Driver by Pozzit. When I first read the Ball Testing article on my membership, I discovered that there were so many threads and great articles.

At 32 I golfed for twenty years. A lot of playing, mainly in the early seasons and on week-long trips. I then play about twice a week during summer league. Over the last 5-6 years my score average has been in the 80s. I slowly work towards an 80 for this year. My strength has always been my wedge and iron playing, with weaknesses in driving precision and putting.

My swing speed averages around 105mph, and my transition times are quick. I have had issues with my driver. Obviously my misses are a slice or pull depending on face angle. My negative attack angle means that I drove too fast last season and caused distance loss. While I have tried my best to address both these issues over the winter I was not completely successful.

Additionally, I have mentioned this before. Clubs don’t rotate very often in my bag and are not able to be purchased frequently. Until this year my clubs averaged at least eight years old. TrueSpec fitted me and I realized that my driver wasn’t helping my game. So, the hunt began. Ben Hogan was a name I had in mind as I looked for DTCs, DTCs and used options. It was an honor to try this club. Ben Hogan is a club I plan to use in the future.

First Impressions I was selected after I found out more information on Ben Hogans. Ben Hogan has three shaft options available in their line-up: a Low Launch (HZRDUSBlack), Mid Launch, (Tensei Blue) and a High Launch (UST Helium). The Driver was ordered in 9.5* with Tensei Blue X stiff shaft. I selected this shaft because I like a stiffer shaft and still desired a mid launch shaft. The company also offers an online fit tool that will help you make the right choice.

I was excited to receive the club and it arrived quickly. You also received a headcover with boxing gloves, and a tool for setting the head. It was beautiful and included head weights and CT measurements.

You will be pleasantly surprised at the nice-looking driver that you receive. While it doesn’t look flashy or extravagant, it does have a good appearance. The crown has a shimmery effect that, when lit in the correct light, looks amazing. This is something that you won’t see in stock photos.

On Twitter, @robslade My lucky break was to receive multiple product reviews, including Tour Edge EXS Driver Snell Black MTB golf balls and SuperSpeed. A decent player since the age of 14 and 38 respectively. I play great golf, even playing with a COVID baby. I reside in NC where most of my game is played in the warm and humid Southeast. I’m a HUGE equipment junkie which led me to building golf clubs as soon as I started playing and I’ve been a clubmaker for over 25 years. Driving has always been my favorite part of golf.

Although I am a good chipper and ball striker, my putting is sometimes sporadic. Even though I swing all the time, my swing is very fluid and smooth. It looks almost like Fred Couples or Ernie Els. I used to hover around 100 mph with a driver but now I’ve been recording 106 mph and have even steadily hit 106-112 mph in my practice sessions. This is largely due to SuperSpeed’s training program.

Golf Stats for Personal Use TLDR:

HCDP: 0.1

Smooth swing tempo, driver swing speed is currently between 104 to 110 mph.

Ball flight is mid trajectory with my miss being a pull fade or pull.

disco111 This is what I believe it does. As you can see, the cutout on an old wooden club was much wider and deeper than it is now. Can it do anything? It’s up to you to guess. Ba dbdors. After I arrived on the range it began to get dark, and then the mosquitos started carrying me at least 10 miles down range. It’s been raining a lot. S. Myherobobhope said > @disco111: > It is my hope that Hogan will review these test reports. Especially from someone as committed as you. Perhaps they will be able offer other shaft options. According to my tracking information, Driver and Fairway should arrive on Wednesday. This weekend I will have the opportunity to test them. Ben Hogan Has Changed the Way That We Purchase Golf Clubs. But how does it work?

Ben Hogan, as they put it, is “changing the status-quo.” We tested their latest model, and we put it to the test. Ben Hogan Review: GS53 Driver

Spec: 10.5deg, Hzrdus Smoke Black 5.5 (60g) I found the driver really easy to hit and was generating a very consistent high ball flight.

My distance may be somewhat shorter but it was due to the shaft being stiffer.

I was still impressed overall by my controlled ball flight, and the shot shape.

Spec: 14deg, Hzrdus Smoke Black 5.5 (60g) This was one of my favourite clubs in the set, I have quite a shallow angle of attack so often find 3-woods hard to flight but this really easy to launch and I was getting consistent very straight ball flights.

Spec: 18deg or 22deg.

But, I realized that they were so easy to hit in the middle of my face.

Ben Hogan Gs53 Driver Review

Long overdue, Ben Hogan has partnered with the GS53 driver. Ben Hogan, who won 5 of 6 majors and earned his Grand Slam championship (he also won the Open Championship), was given this name.

Personally, the GS53 is my favourite driver. Two-piece construction is extremely stable, every hit. And, the mix of distance and forgiveness are perfection.

At $325 this driver is a steal! Save an additional 10% off with code MYSWINGEVOLUTION at checkout! This brings the price under $300. This price cannot be beaten anywhere in the premium golf club marketplace!

It was a company that sent me a customized driver to match my requirements. This made it so I felt completely secure with the contents of my bag for the first times in my life. It is amazing how the driver’s quality and price are so much lower than the top competitors. After trying the driver and driving a half dozen of the most straight drives I have ever experienced, I can say that there isn’t a better driver available for this price.
