Bissell ProheatTM 2X Revolution Carpet Cleaner.

When you are ready to go, the PreHeat 2x Revolution will make noise. It is properly loud at 86-87dB, about the same as standing by a busy street in London, but part of the cacophony was a high-pitched shriek. Although we don’t know what caused the whistling sound, it sounded like a fast dentist drill. Our ears adjusted after a few minutes. Although carpet cleaners rarely make this noise, they are not very silent.

Bissell was looking for a spot where they could relax and enjoy an evening. The deep red rug in our living area presented a challenge. We used the Deep Cleaning Mode with the fresh smelling Febreze solution at a rate of a 74ml jug full in a tank of warm water. As per the instruction manual of Bissell, we used two slow wet and two slow dry sprays to clean the area. The large wheels of the Bissell made it easy to maneuver around the area and weren’t too hard on the arms, considering its weight.

The difference was amazing after only two strokes. ProHeat 2x Revolution carpet quickly filled up its tank, so it was picking up lots of dirty water. This is an unusual result as not many shampooers pick up all the liquid. Bissell was able to clean our short pile carpet from 75% to 88%. This gives carpets a quick dry and a cleaner finish.

While the Bissell could not spray much fluid, Deep Clean mode was used and we followed the directions for using two strokes. A full tank of solution was used to clean a large rug measuring 1.8m by 2.3m. Although it is very efficient, Bissell does not mean Deep Clean. The Express clean uses a much higher solution rate per square meter. Even if deep cleaning is desired, one-stroke spraying will suffice for most carpets.

Still, you can’t argue with the results as our rather dog-eared and lifeless rug looked like new! The water tank in the basement was equally filthy and grimy. Thanks to the Febreze solution, the room smelt very fresh too.

We moved on to the difficult red wine spillage test. The Bissell once again impressed and after a few passes, the stain was gone completely. We were also using the lighter Febreze detergent, and from past experience with Bissell products, we know that adding the Oxygen Boost fluid would have cleaned even quicker.

Another glass of Rioja was poured in the name an thorough review. The hose and extra tough stain tool were used to remove a similar stain. It sprays cleaning fluid at a serious rate irrespective of the Deep/Express setting, so use caution on surfaces you don’t want to fully saturate.

Should I Buy The Bissell Proheat 2X Revolution Carpet Cleaner?

The ProHeat 2x Revolution is a serious carpet cleaner who has achieved great success. It cleans carpets beautifully, is easy to use and can pick up all kinds of dirt. The ProHeat’s heat-activated clean water heater makes the carpet cleaning easy and quick. Similar to the ProHeat’s clean water heater, the Detail tool performs admirably. It has stiff bristles that pick up dirt and provide outstanding stain busting. We have one complaint about the ProHeat 2x Revolution: It is noisy and difficult to clean. ProHeat 2x Revolution will be an affordable purchase if you’re able to live with these limitations.

It’s powerful in cleaning

Credit: Review by Jonathan Chan. The Bissell ProHeat2X Revolution Pet is able to handle dirt and stains.

The Bissell ProHeat2X Revolution Pet was tested by soaking a test carpet in red-fox urine. The urine smells just like pungent skull and makes a formidable opponent to the Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet. On a 18×18 inch square of carpet, we poured about 1/2 ounces of the urine. We could feel our nostrils moving across the room from the strong fox urine smell.

We were able to avoid this unpleasant smell by cleaning the carpet with the Pet Pro Oxy Urine Eliminator cleaning product. Within two minutes of cleaning the carpet, the Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet eliminated the odor from the carpet.

A colleague of mine took the Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet along to lab testing to check if it would tackle a large area rug with two dogs. They reported back the cleaning solution eliminated odors, and that copious amounts of dog hair never clogged the unit.
