Here is the point where my Cobra King F7+ driver really impressed me. Modern drivers can perform so well that they are able to adjust and forgive easily. This season, many of these drivers have felt great. What driver feels best? That is hard. The Cobra King F7+ I think is one of 2017’s best.
Shots that are hit at the sweet spot on the King F7+ feel almost like being shot out of a canon. It feels solid but responsive and is still very comfortable in your hand. The sound from the Forged 8-11 Titanium E9 face is medium volume and similar to the “crack” of the King LTD with a little more percussion behind it.
As I was reviewing Club Champion, I received a call from a member of the bay next to me. He said that he didn’t know much about my club but thought it was amazing.

A little more round than the traditional driver, but it gave us confidence behind our ball.

Cobra KingF7/F7+ Review, Dominic Choma. Club Fitter. It’s no surprise that Cobra struggled to improve on its King F6+, F6+, and F6+. Here is where King F7+ and King F7+ drivers step in. For 2017, the King F7 driver is new and retails at $349.99. King F6+ will be replaced with the King F7+ and is priced at $399.99.
King F7 has a very similar weight system to King F6. However, there are some subtle differences. A third weight port is added to the King F7. It is located on the back of the club. It allows for more draw-biased ball flights than the King F6. Considering that the vast majority of golfers tend to slice the golf ball, this is a very welcome addition to the new model that should make it a good option for a wider range of golfers. In addition the heaviest weight has been increased from 10 grams to 12 grams, which will increase the effect of the different weight settings. There are eight settings for loft on the King F7 driver. Three settings have a higher pitch, which can be used by those who slice or hit too hard.
The King F7+ King F7+ Driver is more advanced than the predecessor. The King F6+ had a sliding weight track, but this has been replaced with 3 weight settings, one in each of the King F7’s front, rear and heel. King F7+ uses the same 12-gram weight of the King F7 Driver. So if both drivers have the same weight settings with the same weights, what is the difference you might be wondering?
There are a few differences between these drivers that will help determine the type of player that each will benefit. The biggest difference in the overall shape and look of each driver. Comparable to the King F7 the F7+ features a more prominent clubface and a smaller profile from front to back at the address. These features are more appealing to lower handicappers as they prefer this look. The King F7+ will be a bit more user-friendly than the King F7+, which gives skilled golfers a greater control over their shot. With its bigger footprint and more streamlined shape, the King F7 should be appealing to higher handicap players who want greater forgiveness for their mistakes and straighter flight. The loft settings on the King F7+ driver are another difference. F7+ also has 3 degrees loft adjustability, 8 settings and a range of lofts from 8-11 degrees. If you are not a fan of hitting your tee shots too high this is the perfect option.
To get an idea of how these new drivers perform, I put them to the test in The Cluboratory at Miles of Golf Ann Arbor. Each model was hit (King F7+, King F7+), in every weight setting (Back, Heel, Front). My swing loft was to have each of my head at 9.5 degrees with the standard lying angle setting. This shaft is well suited for my swing. Only the model of the clubhead and weight settings changed during this test. Here are the results

Cobra Golf’s 2017 lineup will be the best. To do so they will again be offering three options in the driver segment: The King LTD, the F7, and the F7+. THP was fortunate enough to be able to take the F7+-equipped driver with them to experience the improvements in performance and aesthetics.
Cobra’s commitment to the moveable weight, and its impact on performance in fine-tuning/fitting was evident last year. Although the F6+ had the best single-moving weight system available, Cobra decided to offer more than just the F6+’s variable front to rear option. Because of that, the F7+ now features a three weight system that is more of an expanded version of the F6 than what we saw with the F6+ last year.Key Technology Rundown:
Cobra’s F7 line of drivers places heavy emphasis upon weight savings and manipulating the F7+. This might be their best-known example. Due to the sheer amount of technology involved in the F7+ it seems sensible to provide a detailed breakdown of this technology to help you better understand its impact on your performance.
Three weight ports are available on the head, one 12g and two at 2g. These allow for CG fine tuning and manipulation based upon player needs. There are two locations for low launch and high launch, but now we see a location on the heel that allows the player to choose between drawing weights. This is a new feature in the head, which has a traditional, more neutral, fade-biased design. Cobra is very grateful for replacing the F6’s “towering” & “penetrating” terminology with something more neutral. They now have a “high”, a “low”, and a “draw” toned-down version of their heads. It’s a small thing, sure, but it makes for a cleaner package.
The launch monitor showed that weights had a significant impact on ball flight performance. It was evident from the way the weights were placed in the back and the movements around the ports. According to this reviewer, the launch angle increased by 1.6deg when 12g was placed in the back than the front. Spin speed also rose 323rpm. The draw port had a 0.6% increase in launch angle, but it also showed an effect on the flight direction from left to right. Something to keep in mind here, the amount of change will vary based on the user and their needs, but the data recorded does not lie that the three location setup works. Cobra could make the F6 weights more readily available online, which would be a great opportunity to provide these people with a fitting experience.

Is The Cobra F7 Driver Forgiving?
My optimized performance with King F7 was not the best, but it did lead me to extremely long distances. However, I found that the King F7 was extremely reliable and forgiving. The King F7 makes a good driver option for players that are focused on accuracy rather than distance.
