Design:

SpeedZone Club Head offers two design choices in a 9-degree loft or 10.5 degrees loft.

Our review of the black with yellow colour accents and glossy polished

Black color with white accents. Matte finish.

The 10.5 preset loft clubs were tested. It has eight launch options, including 10.5 standard and 11.5 standard. The MyFly Hosel Adjustment makes it easy for you to adjust the club’s hosel. After trying out different settings, I settled on the 10.5 standard setting. It is great to be able quickly change the settings on the course.

Similar to previous Cobra King drivers, the SpeedZone comes with two moveable weights to allow the golfer to tailor their launch angle. Although the club comes pre-set with a 14g weight for forward and a 2g for back settings, these can easily be swapped. The increased launch angle was noticeable when I moved the 14g weight from the forward setting to the back setting. However, the preset weighting is better for the reduced launch angle and greater distance. It would be nice if the club offered additional weights which could be exchanged on the club. The weights of the SpeedZone 2020 driver are not compatible with the Cobra King Speedback’s 2019 driver. Cobra King will sell any extra weights at $25 each. From a technical perspective, many features are designed to give the ball more club head speed. One of my favorites features is the milled-infinity club face, which wraps around all the club’s face. This is meant to increase the milled area of the face by 95% and provide a larger sweet spot zone. It also protects the club from miss-hits which are either too close to or below the ball.

The club offers four shaft types, ranging in stiffness from Extra Stiff up to Lite, from different manufacturers. This provides golfers with many options to find their preferred shaft flex and weight.

Arnold Palmer said it best: “Golf is an inch game.” In golf, the most important thing is 6 inches between the ears. The weight, look, and feel of the Cobra King SpeedZone exude confidence. I love the overall feel of this club and the small King Cobra logo above the sweet spot of the face helps provide the added confidence as I approach the ball and set the club behind the tee.

Cobra Golf King Speedzone driver – “First Impressions Review”.

COBRA Golf King Speedzone was one driver that I was excited about swinging in 2020. One of the drivers I initially saw was at a Kitchener, Ontario trade show. It was a driver that I had seen in person. Would it live up to my expectations?

It was a question that would I have asked at the 2020 PGA Show Orlando. Here is my review of the COBRA Golf KING SPEEDZONE driver based on the first impressions that it gave me at Demo Day at Orange County National Golf Resort and Lodge.

There are two models available in the Set-Up COBRA golf KING SPEDZONE drivers. These will be of interest to those looking for new drivers in 2020. COBRA Golf offers both the “standard” and KING SPEDZONEXTREME models. The two drivers have the exact same chassis but there are differences. Before looking at their differences, let’s see what the two models have in common.

COBRA Golf claims that their new line of drivers for KING SPEEDZONE are the longest and most powerful they have ever created. Drawing inspiration from motorsports, these drivers look fast just sitting still. The “dual exhaust” located at the back of their trailing edge can be seen to show some of that inspiration. CNC-machined faces feature the KINGSZ driver, which we first noticed in 2018. It is similar to that of the KING F8. It’s just that the face features a twist or, should I say, an infinite symbol. This sign signifies “no limits”, or “endless”.

“Infinity Face” is one of the technologies that we see in the KING SZ. Infinity Face is a technology that allows you to see the entire face. Infinity Face gives the user an enhanced sweet spot and increased ball speed throughout the whole face.

The “T-Bar Chassis” was introduced this year. T-Bar Chassis consists of a section from the interior portion that runs along the leading edge to the trailing side. The cross-member COBRA Golf R&D created a stronger frame which improved the durability and feel of the KING SZ Driver.

Are you drawn to the appearance of carbon fiber? If so, KINGSZ drivers could be what you are looking for. The KINGSZ is equipped with a 360 Carbon Wrap. The 360 Carbon Wrap covers a whopping 50% of the body. COBRA Golf moved a remarkable 25-grams discretionary weight through the use of carbon fiber. This is the ultimate luxury of golf club design. Engineers could create a driver full of forgiveness by shifting weight to other parts of the KING SZ Drivers.
