It’s my goal to live a low-waste lifestyle and I love bags. Below are the main differences and similarities that I saw between the two bags. The Cuyana Classic Leather Tote measures 13(h) x 18(L) x 5(w) inches with a 9 inch strap drop. Cuyana’s classic leather tote measures approximately 13″h x 18(L) x 5W inches. It also has a 9-inch drop. Cuyana bags have soft leather that is soft and can be folded inwards to shrink the width.
Though the totes are really similar, here are the reasons why I think the Cuyana tote is better:
Firstly, the Cuyana Tote leather is stunning. It feels super soft, and it smells great. Even though they have different textures, this leather smells very similar to Balenciaga bag leather. Madewell Totes’ leather feels stiff, and it smells cheap.
The difference between the two leathers is likely due to the fact the Cuyana bag is made in America and the Madewell bag is made in China. Cuyana, however, is known for producing high quality products.
The Madewell Tote strap is slightly shorter but can be very useful when carrying it over a jacket. Cuyana bags might work, but the Madewell bag would be too big.
You can also get the Cuyana tote in three different versions: The classic, the tall tote, and the zippered.
As you can tell, the Cuyana tote is my favorite over the Madewell. However, if we had to talk about my other totes, including the Mansur Gavriel Tote here and Everlane tote there, I’d say the Everlane is my favorite. I like the slimmer shape and adjustable straps. The two pockets inside have snap closures. The Mansur Gavriel is good for just piling things in, and it holds its shape really well. My general preference is not for soft bags. The Cuyana tote would win my vote if it were me.

Madewell Vs. Leather Tote Fashionable Vs. Cuyana

My Madewell bag has been sold since it started collecting dust in my closet. I used it largely as purse big enough to carry around diapers and baby supplies when my kiddos were littler. They’re now bigger so I like a small crossbody or tote. The quality of my Madewell bags has declined since I purchased the first one. I recently bought another Madewell bag. It was the small crossbody tote. The leather strap feels thinner and more synthetic than genuine leather. There is now a string of brass knobs that hold the strap together, instead of a single buckle.
I still have my Able tote, though I don’t use it a ton, and I think that’s mostly due to the color. I recently was gifted a second bag from them, the Tirhas Saddlebag , and I use it quite a bit.
Cuyana gifted me merchandise and I promoted an event last spring. I chose the Classic Tote in caramel , because my tall tote always felt a little too tall for me. The Classic Tote is my favorite. And the caramel shade is richer and warmer than it used to be. I’d highly recommend this bag.
Grechen, a blogger friend of mine from a long ago was the one I came across when I was doing an online search for leather totes. I think I was looking up the Madewell Transport Tote, and I stumbled upon her review Fast-forward a few years, and I realized I’ve compiled my own little stash of leather totes. These totes have served me well for over a year. That’s the beauty and power of the internet. You can read feedback on almost anything before you buy it. That’s how valuable it is. The experience is similar to a crowd of women shopping in the same aisle. If she’s not careful, the zipper can lead you down a rabbit hole. Here are my opinions and questions. I am sharing my honest reviews of the Zip Transport Tote from Madewell, Mamuye Leather Tote By Fashionable, and Tall Leather Tote. Time owned: 1 year, 11 month. What I like the most: This tote’s leather is my favourite. It’s thick enough to have some structure, but the natural grain and creases have begun to show over time. The leather is finished and sealed in a way that I don’t have to worry about spills or stains, making it very easy and simple to use.
What I don’t like: These handles make it difficult to carry as a full-sized tote. It can either be worn cross-body or on my forearm. Somedays I wish I could just throw the short handles over my shoulder, but the logistics don’t work.
China. Material: Leather Strap + Brass Details. Overall, this bag is light. Zip Transport Tote has an interior pocket and is lined. It is made of leather that is thick enough to hold its shape well. The bag retains its original form even when it is filled with chock.
Review: Cuyana Structured Leather Tote
For work, my preferred style of bag when choosing a tote is the one I use. These bags are simple, easy to use, can carry everything and look great with any outfit. There’s a lot of totes on the market but one of my favorites is the Cuyana Structured Leather Tote . It’s basically the professional version of the Cuyana Classic Leather Tote . It is more structured than its predecessor, which is why it has the same name. I did a full video review of this bag on my Youtube Channel, you can find the video here The inside of the tote is much like other totes, just a huge bag with no pockets for organization. Cuyana Tote Insert was the perfect accessory to my tote bag. It comes in many different colors so you can either match or complement the inner color of your tote. I do think it’s overpriced but I purchased it even so because I think it’s very functional and useful.
. The style can be worn for every occasion, because it is so soft and warm.
The other thing I love about this tote is that it has two leather ties on the side. They can be dangled on the sides to add some decoration. This reminds me somewhat of the Celine Belt Bag. However, the main function of the sideties is that they can be tied across the top of the bag to make the tote more structured.
Quality-wise, the bag is very good. I purchased the one in black pebbled and have only used it about six months. I have not seen any scratches, loss of color or transfer to it, nor has the corner wear. My bag is rarely used. It usually goes from my car to my desk.
Even if the tote is full, it has very thick straps which make it comfortable and easy to carry. Cuyana Structured Leder Tote would be a good choice for anyone looking to buy a new work bag. It can be used for work or weekend, especially when it is available in other colors.
