Finding the right mattress can be a search that involves research, testing, and a lot of expensive trial and error. The process of buying a mattress can become stressful, especially when it comes to finding the best way to transport your purchase. The purchase had been delayed because I was unsure what mattress would be best and how it could be delivered. My concerns about mattress purchasing were solved when I found out that Helix Midnight Luxe could be delivered directly to my house and offered a 100-day return policy. It was easier to push the box onto the floor than lifting it. This was the job of two men. We took the folded mattress from its box and pulled it out. Because of its bulky 120-pound weight and heavy configuration, lifting the mattress onto the boxspring required two people. Helix recommended that the mattress be unrolled before being placed on a bed. We waited until it was fully unrolled to ensure it was properly on the boxspring. It would have been more difficult to transport if the mattress was not unrolled.
To cut the remaining plastic, I used scissors. To avoid damaging the mattress, it’s crucial to take care during this process. Because the plastic is thick, it’s important to not cut too fast as this could cause damage to the top of the mattress. Midnight LUXE’s mattress is rolled before being compressed. It will expand quickly as you remove the plastic. This will make it much more difficult to handle by one person.
The mattress was expanding so it wasn’t simple to get rid of the excess plastic. The mattress would have been more challenging to move from the ground. The mattress needs a box spring or a platform bed. Helix comes with multiple bases. However, you can use any other brand. This mattress suited the queen size bed frame and box spring that I already owned.

Tencel, a fabric which increases airflow and has a 2 inch pillow top is included on the mattress. Even in warm weather, it was significantly cooler to sleep on the Helix Midnight Luxury LUXE mattress that our regular pillow top.
The five-layer mattress consists of memory foam; gel; polyfoam; coils; and a dense foam foundation. Helix states the coils layer boasts over 1,000 coils. It also has a zoned coil coating around the hips that provides added support for side sleepers. The Helix Midnight Luxe LUXE was a great sleep system. I felt less aches after a few weeks. It also made it easier to get up in the morning.
I frequently read or work on my computer in bed, sitting up propped against my headboard. It is very hard to do this with a soft mattress. A firmer mattress is what I would prefer for my sleep. The Helix Midnight LUXE struck a good balance between the two. It is the best choice for those looking for true medium support. Moonlight LUXE’s Sunset LUXE feels soft, while Dawn LUXE’s Twilight LUXE offers firmer support. The Midnight LUXE is a great choice for those who prefer to sleep sideways, while the Dusk LUXE can be used for stomach or back sleepers.

Helix Midnight: Helix offers a standard version and a LUXE version of all their mattresses. The LUXE option includes two more inches of pillow top layer and Tencel covering. It also comes with a longer warranty. The Helix Midnight is a more affordable option. This pillow has similar firmness to the Helix Midnight and works well for all sleeping positions. It does not have the Tencel top and has a smaller profile. It gets great reviews, and it is perfect for guest rooms as well as a rarely-used bed.

Sinkage & Motion Transfer
The Helix Midnight Luxe does a great job with minimizing sinkage, especially when compared to most other hybrid mattresses we have reviewed.
Sinkage and motion transfer depend on your weight. My average weight of 230 lbs has an impact on my sinkage when lying down and sitting on a bed.
I often tend to compress the top comfort layers of most hybrid mattresses quite a bit and come to rest on their coil support layers which are hard and not so comfortable.
The mattress was different. True, it was quite hard to get into the bed. But the soft transition layers and firmer support prevented me from feeling more comfortable and unable to sink deeper.
These layers lifted my heavy weight with ease and distributed it evenly across the bed while the zoned technology of the pocketed coil layer provided just the right amount of support to those areas of my body where I needed it most.
Kaye said that her mattress was supportive of her weight, and she didn’t feel like it made her fall into my bed. This is often the case for mattresses with poor quality due to weight differences.
It was also not the typical feeling of “sinking in a hole”, which made for a peaceful, enjoyable night for her and her partner.
