Msi Creator15 Review: An excellent laptop for gaming or work

Joanna Nelius Comments (1) Sometimes, gaming and creator-focused laptops are not easily distinguished. Each has enough specs to handle transcoding video as fast as it loads graphically-intensive games. They also have sufficient ports to allow for the transfer of raw image files and to hook-up streaming devices. Sometimes, they even come with 4K displays. The Creator 15 gaming laptop from MSI has some neat features that can make your games pop and sound more vivid. These extras are important to musicians, filmmakers, or gamers.

The MSI Creator 15’s position among laptops in its category is quite favorable. It’s still expensive. The review unit comes with an Intel Core i7-1075H and Nvidia RTX 2060. There are 16 GB (16 GB x 2) DDR4-2566MHz RAM with 1 TB NVMe SSD. A 15.6-inch, 1080p, 60 Hz touch-screen with 72% NTSC is available. This is pretty comparable to the 100% sRGB range and quite standard for more expensive laptops. Based on our testing, it has a maximum brightness of 360 nits. It seems to be a low-end laptop for creators.

You will pay around $1900 for all this, but a full-loaded model, with a touch screen and RTX 2080 Super Max Q, is close to $2,900. The MSI Creator 15’s price is much lower than that of the HP ZBook Create G7 which has a base model for $2,750. It will still accomplish almost everything you require. Although the ZBook has richer colors, and the sound is not as powerful as the MSI Creator 15, this model was built for professionals. Displays that are capable of producing higher quality colors will be preferred by professionals. MSI Creator 15 has many more features for students, as well as someone who is just starting their creative career. It is comparable to the iPad Pro 16″ at $2800. But, its display resolution is lower and the color gamut is not as wide as that on the MacBook Pro.

One of the best parts about all of the laptops that I have tested is its chassis. Fair enough, I prefer laptops that aren’t trying to imitate expensive sports cars. MSI Creator 15 has a lot to offer, including Razer’s laptops as well as MSI’s GS66 stealth laptop, one our favourite gaming laptops. Its logo blends seamlessly with its matte matte chassis. This looks professional, sleek, and doesn’t attract fingerprints. Although I missed my favorite feature, the numberpad, which is on every keyboard, the keys are big and easily accessible for all sizes of hands. It’s something I learned from years of working in data entry and customer support.

The Msi 15 Gaming Laptop Is Hardy, But it’s Loud as Heck and Twice As Heavy

Written 1 year back: September 23, 2019, 10:07am – Gaming Laptops MSI Creator 15 Review. The MSI Creator 15 is an extremely durable laptop, with strong performance and a mix of work and play. This laptop will not only perform well in all tasks, it also makes a lot of noise during the process that it’ll make you wonder if you are doing anything wrong. The Creator 15 is fast and clear in games, but its users are constantly whistling. The Creator 15 is best avoided if you have a sensitive reaction to laptop noise.

Depending on what you’re planning to use it for, you’ll need to be okay with a light whir (for everyday tasks), a slightly annoying whir for average gameplay (Fall Guys) and a tornado twister of noise for higher-specced games (The Witcher III, Shadow of the Tomb Raider and more).

It weighs in at over 2.1 kilograms, making it difficult to carry around. MSI Creator’s 15-pound weight puts portability, comfort and great performance at risk.

Performance

We now move onto the great stuff. The MSI Creator 15 performed well in benchmarks for the Intel Core i7-1075H/GeForce RTX2060 combo. These benchmarks were performed using the laptop’s “best performance” setting. Shadow of the Tomb Raider was optimized for Ultra texture quality and ‘Highest settings’. Far Cry 5 had the same benchmarking as Far Cry 5 according to in-game optimisation.

It also did majorly well in the FPS test, never dipping under 75 FPS in benchmarking across Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Far Cry 5 and Forza Horizon 4. It was particularly good with Shadow of the Tomb Raider’s market scene, with smooth performance all through. Far Cry 5’s benchmarking scenes were less intense and it reached highs of 107 FPS.

It is a step above the Lenovo Legion 5 I tested in August ($1,899), and lower than the HP Omen X 2S I tried earlier this year (4,699). Its FPS performance is impressively only a few steps below the HP Omen X 2S (Intel Core i7-9750H/GeForce RTX2080) which runs at $700 less and has 118 FPS for Forza Horizon 4, vs. 120.3 FPS. There is a marked difference in other tests, with Far Cry 5 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider both performing less impressively on the MSI Creator 15 than the Omen. However, the scores were impressive all-round and are great for the next generation.

This is the touchscreen model of the MSI Creator 15.

MSI has introduced its 2021 Creator 15, a portable laptop designed for creative work. Nvidia’s brand new RTX3000 mobile graphics cards is included. The Creator 15 costs $1,899 which represents a 27 per cent increase over the 2020 model. It will start shipping on January 26th. MSI calls the Creator 15 “an excellent all-around laptop, built for the most demanding creations.” A color-accurate display is an important aspect of any creator-focused laptop. MSI said that the panel’s 15.6-inch (4K) resolution covers all of Adobe RGB. MSI also claims it “guaranteed” to deliver a real-life experience.

This video MSI was made to showcase the Creator’s new creation:

The intent of the Creator 15 is to help you get work done on the go, whether you’re out at a coffee shop, walking around a conference, or just lounging around at home. As its predecessor the Creator 15 has a 99Wh rechargeable battery. It is one of the best batteries you can use on a flight. Its long-lasting battery life was a strong point of the original Creator 15. And at 4.63 pounds (2.1 kg), the Creator 15 is portable enough to bring from place to place.

Apart from the huge battery and next-gen graphics (which could be an RX 3060 Max-Q, or RTX 3660 Max-Q), Creator 15 features a Core I7-10870H with up to 32GB RAM and 1TB storage SSD.

Nvidia’s RTX 3000 graphics are now available on the Creator 15, the latest addition to the slew gaming and creator laptops. Nvidia’s MaxQ third-generation design is used on these new laptops. Dynamic Boost 2.0 technology is included on the new GPUs. This uses AI to instantly balance power between CPU, GPU and GPU memory.

Review on Msi Creator 15 Performance

Under the hood of the MSI Creator 15 model A10SFS-287 in this review is an eight-core/16-thread Intel Core i7-10875H processor (2.3Ghz base; upto 5.1GHz boost), an 8GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 (Max-Q) GPU, 32GB of memory, and a 1TB solid-state drive loaded with Windows 10 Pro.

The configuration makes for powerful hardware. Comparable notebooks at this price point include only six core/12-thread Core i7 chips, such as the Razer Blaze 15 Base Edition. The Creator 15 is a heavy premium for an aesthetically stunning OLED 4K/UHD display. Meanwhile, the Creator 15 is a super-bargain next to the non-touch HP ZBook 15 Create G7 MSI Creator 15 Professional Laptop: 15.6″ 4K UHD Ultra-Thin Bezel Display,…

Although the Creator 15 is intended for professionals creative-video editors, etc. it can also be used with games. With ray tracing off, the Creator 15 averages 1080p at ultra (or the highest graphical setting), with 71 FPS in Total War II and Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

These performance levels are comparable to what the Nvidia RTX2070 is expected to get from a MSI Creator 15. You don’t need to have a faster graphics card with the display’s 60Hz refresh rate.

David Mitchelson Reviews Product on Review:

MSIS

The Intel Core i7-1070H launched in Q3 2020 – nearly a year before the next generation. And already, we see 11th-Gen. in the mobile platform. The next generation of Intel processors has not yet been fully adopted by laptop manufacturers, as performance SKUs are still in development.

Do you think the 10th generation is worth your consideration? It’s possible that the successor will soon be available, but price drops are likely on Comet Lake based laptops. Now is the right time to take a look at the current offers.

Today’s model combines Intel Core i7-10770H and RTX2nd generation. This is paired up with 32GB DDR4, a 2-GB M.2 SSD and a fancy multi-touchscreen display.

Are you a media specialist? Is the Creator 15 worth a look? Let’s see!

Their Creator 15 Creator 15 has MSI, making it powerful and mobile wherever you are. With 99.9 WHr battery capacity, it supports non-stop creativity and keeps you focused on your creative workflow.
