The ultimate review will be provided to help you decide if the Ping G25 drivers is really as amazing as the manufacturer claims.

Keep in mind that some of those reviews from golf magazines and websites will be paid for by advertisers, leading to biased reviews that are unfairly positive.

Ping is getting more attention ever since Bubba Watson was the Masters spokesperson in 2012. Most golfers probably know at least some of their clubs.

To start out, let’s review some of the official information and specifications on the Ping G25 Driver.

Specifications for the Ping G25 driver. There are some constants in these specifications. Ping G25 Drivers made available to the general public come standard with an offset of zero and an angle at 58°. The headweight is constant at 295 grams. Maximum head size is 460cc. The club’s swing weight is D3; all models are compatible with both right and left-handed players.

In addition, the club comes in a standard length of 45.75 inches. So, only the loft specification of the driver is variable. Ping G25 drivers are available in lofts of 8-5, 9-5, 10.5, 11-5, and 12 degrees. Additionally, the loft can be adjusted up to one-half degree each way. This lets golfers alter their trajectory and increase distance.

Review: Ping G25 Driver

Ping has made driving the ball easier. Drivers are the one thing that amateurs often struggle with. However, many pros suffer from driver issues. It is all about finding something more convenient and lasting. It would be so easy if it was. But it’s not with the G25. It was a much more straightforward and long-lasting combination than the G series Ping drivers. Even though the G Series has been Ping’s most popular driver model for many years, their staff still prefers this more forgiving one. Their goal is to be on the fairways as well. It’s important to have the most accommodating driver, but no one likes to lose yardage. The G25 offers both.

This shift is new in 2013 for the G25. It matches the color of the other Ping drivers. The matterblack is the same as the Anser or i20 driver. This is probably the best color available for drivers on the marketplace. You can see the difference at home. Matte black just looks tough. It also has a black sole with a small Ping and G25 at the bottom. This makes it a very attractive stick. 2013 also saw the addition of an adjustable hosel. Ping’s first adjustable driver was the Anser. The same hosel can be found in the G25 driver. It isn’t as complicated or adjustable as other drivers but it helps adjust the driver to ensure a perfect fit.

The Anser driver has more shafts options than the TFC 189, but there are fewer stock options. TFC189 is the only option. Ping is always encouraging me to get fitted for all my clubs. I found that the TFC189 Tour Stiff shaft produced a bit too much spin. My shaft came with a second shaft: the Graphite Design DI 7. This will lower the spin. TFC189 Tour stiff was lower in launch, however the spin was greater than the DI, which had a higher launch and lower spin. Get fit to determine what combination works for you. You might also be able find a shaft from the Anser driver that will work in this head. On windy days, I found that the Diamana Ahina was a good choice. The driver’s length is very long but it can be adjusted easily.

I played my first round with the driver at Casa de Campo, Dominican Republic. Because of our prolonged winter in Minnesota, I hadn’t been outside for over a month. As anyone can see, I had a rough swing, so my goal was to just survive on the new course and get as many shots as possible. The G25 makes you feel confident just by looking at it. The large, matte-black head sits nicely behind the ball. It has enough width to allow you to see the middle and its face is high enough to make it feel as if you are able to find the center. On the first tee, there were both jitters and confidence, so I swung away and hit a towering bomb into the middle of the first fairway. It felt so good. The round was perfect: high launch, low spin, and straight as an Arrow. It wasn’t much different from the previous rounds. It averaged 10 of 14 fairways. Which I felt was pretty good considering the timing of the year. Two of the four missed fairways were very close misses. One was narrow but still playable, and one was the result of an extremely bad swing. The pictures at the bottom of this review show how off center I was when I took that poor swing.

In terms of sound quality and feel, it is now closer to the i20. My opinion is that the i20 could still be the greatest sounding and feeling driving machine ever made. However, the G25 is close to it, but slightly lower in quality. The ball is sent flying out of the fairway by the metallic sound it makes at impact.

TFC 189, the stock TFC, is an excellent shaft. It’s very close, feels solid, launches well, and runs very smoothly. The shaft is in excellent condition. The shaft should fit many golfers. I have trouble spinning the ball well with stock shafts that are 99% lower than mine. My driver always needs a spin shaft with a lower pitch. So I purchased the DI. This shaft is one my favorites. The G25’s Graphite Design feels super smooth and has a high spin, but low launch. The DI shaft is very precise and I was able to find the perfect fit for my G25. This driver was 10 yards longer when the spin factor of the DI increased from the TFC189. Low spin levels can be detrimental to drives. Start with TFC 189, and work your way up.

The distance I could hit the G25 from the G25 took me just a bit longer. The launch and the lower spin are the main factors in the distance gain. While I don’t think I was able to drive it much farther than other drivers, it can be easy for me to reach a great distance. At the end of the day that is what it is all about, I don’t want to work too hard or need the stars align just so I can hit a long drive, I just want it to happen automatically with each drive. That was exactly what the G25 did.

Ping G25 Driver – Best Choice For Beginners. – Review by Golf Driver

Shahan Kir Golf Club Reviews 1 Comment Ping G25 driver Review. I’m going to share with you my favourite driver of all-time, the Ping G25. But before I go into details about the club let me tell you a bit about why I believe this is a fantastic driver for beginners:

You need to find it easy to use. So sit back and enjoy the review below… Simplicity So what makes a driver simple to use? My preference is for clubs to not allow manual adjustment. If the club can be adjusted, however, these changes should be made quickly. Ping’s Trajectory TuningTM (TM) technology is featured in the G25. It allows the player to change the loft by half a degree.

Use the PING wrench to adjust your hosel (similarly to a Philips-head drilldriver). Increase the loft angle to get more backspin. But, this will result in a lower ball flight and greater distance.

The club’s angle can be reduced, which will result in less loft and lower flight. You also get less backspin on the ball. This can give you a bit more range.

These minor adjustments might be helpful for professionals golfers. I just left my driver as it was in stock and let it go!

The Sweet Spot The Ping G25 uses a similar 460cc clubhead to other drivers. However, its profile is enormous! The increased size of the head allows for a much larger sweet spot than some other drivers. The sweet spot of the driver is much larger than other drivers. This allows for you to hit your ball slightly off center and still get it straight. Large sweet spots allow me to swing the ball more freely and not have to aim perfectly. The club is a great tool for expressing my love of the game.

That’s one big sweet spot – SWEET!
