This model has the same stealth black matte finish as the G300, with Dragonfly Technology in the crown. PING does a better job of this than the G300. PING G, G30, and other clubs were somewhat intrusive. They almost got in the path of the user. This sleeker and more attractive design makes the head look much better.

For better draw control, the G400 has the same PING tungsten weight back at the club. However the weight is set closer to the heel. Unmatched control and distance power are the hallmarks of this design.

Compared to other drivers of its caliber, the G400 Driver is definitely a stand out in most categories. G400 Driver’s only problem is that it doesn’t compare to top-of-the-line competitors such as the Taylor. The only problem with the G400 Driver, as well as many Titleist drivers, was that it does not offer CG adjustment. It is concerning that there are no other options for customizing the ball flight than loft adjustments or shafts.

G400 crowns can also cause problems for some golfers. Even with the reduced size of the crowns there is still much to look at the address.

With a handicap of 12, I am by no means a professional golfer but I really do like these new G400’s. I feel they have more confidence, the ball is more accurate, it’s easier to hit mishits and has a better flight. Each club also gives me about 3-5 yards more distance.

When I go through all my stats at the end of the 2018 golf season, I expect to see an improvement, particularly with my greens in regulation.

All clubs are not the same. I WAS WRONG AGAIN. They all worked. We were both club addicts, my father passed away in 2003. I used to fix and refinish persimmon clubs. I sold all the vintage sets and was then able buy a very nice set. After testing, Ping G400 emerged as the winner. This is not to say that I’m the greatest tester; just what works for me. I am one of 18 handicappers who enjoys the game. The G400 driver, SFT 3,5.7, and 400 irons 5-LW were my purchases. ( All graphite regular) Also includes a Doon stick. A G400 bag was purchased from South Korea by my sister. Went to the course with no warm up and shot 83. UNBELIEVABLE. My weakest area (greens in regulation) was almost gone. It’s hard to express how happy I am, but just wanted to let everyone know how great this product is. Pops would love these clubs. I was wrong again.

Ping was a favorite of mine since I first got my g410 drivers. Recently, I started to think about getting Ping Irons. The customer service is the best part about them, I have been told. The G400s finally arrived in May. I was able to see the scratches in the hydropearl after a few rounds. Ping replied that they didn’t mind it looking like this. They only care about the performance. However, performance is paramount. I’m sure everyone would agree with me that their irons look nice for at the very least three seasons. To put it lightly, this was not a great experience.
