Ping G410 Driver Review

ping g410 driver review

Ping G400 was one of the top-selling drivers on the golf market last year. Ping has released a driver this year that combines the level of forgiveness you expect from Ping with the adjustability that you would find in top-performing drivers – The Ping G410 Plus Driver.

The G410 driver is already proving a hit for PING staff player Bubba Watson, whose accuracy off the tee has already vastly improved since putting it in his bag. It was certainly a driver who got us talking when the G410 Plus driver came to GolfMagic Headquarters. After hearing so much about it, we were eager to hear more.

The G410 Plus features a 16g weight of tungsten in its back. This is the first PING driver. The weight can be adjusted to either a fade or draw setting, which alters your shot by up to ten yards. It is the forgiveness of PING drivers that makes them so popular. The brand wanted to keep it adjustable. To keep the MOI high, the weight was placed at the back of the clubhead. This ensures that you still get all the forgiveness and control you would expect from a PING drievr. GolfMagic’s Jack Seddon reviews the PINGG410Plus at Farleigh Golf Club.

So today, we are going to review the Ping G410 Plus driver. It won’t be your usual review. We’re not going to talk about all the, does it feel good, does it look good, my personal opinion on it.

The science and technology of club heads will be discussed.

You won’t find a better driver than him. The science behind this driver is what we’ll be talking about.

So, let’s die right into it. The interview I conducted was with engineers at Ping. Full disclosure: I am Brand Ambassador for Ping so my biases are disclosed. These clubs really appeal to me.

Ping G410 Plus Driver Review, Photos And More: Clubtest 2020

ClubTest 2020 has tested and evaluated 28 new drivers. Here are the Ping G410 Plus results.

Price: $500 / BUY NOW Lofts: 9.5@, 10.5@, 12@ Our take: Three weight locations along the perimeter draw, neutral and fade allow 20 yards of draw and fade. This 455cc multimaterial construction has a T9S+ forged face, which is heat-treated to improve face deflection. For increased efficiency and strength, the crown is creased.

ClubTester’s take (16-hdcp): “Penetrating ballflight and great distance without swinging hard.”

Robot’s perspective: Robust performance for mid-speed athletes in terms of accuracy, carry and maneuverability. Also, I forgive heel hits.

Ping G410 Lst Driver Review, Photos And More: Clubtest 2020

ClubTest 2020 saw us test and review 28 drivers in order to help you choose the best one. Here are the Ping G410LST results.

Price: $500 / BUY NOW Lofts: 9.5@, 10.5@, 12@ Our take: While the head is slightly smaller than the Plus version (450cc), the LST still offers the same range of adjustability and technology with a low spin profile. Depending on the player, the forward center of gravity can reduce spin by 200 to 400 rpm.

ClubTester’s take (2-hdcp): “Filthy low launch and spin. And that’s from someone who doesn’t use PING!

Robot’s take on high-speed balls: Robot is near the top.

The Bottom Line

Ping offers quality and superior performance. Ping focuses on engineering and forgiveness. This is why it’s worth a try. The shaft I received was much shorter than the one that I had used before, so it was a few swings until my distance from the ball was comfortable. You could begin to feel the real power and forgiveness with this club once you had your distance.

The “tramponline effect” can be felt when you strike this club at the centre of the clubface. It is possible to feel the ball leaving the club. But it wasn’t the perfectly struck balls that was impressive, rather the “mishits,” which were what really sold me to join this club. Even though I was unable to hit many balls, my dispersion wasn’t bad. It still gave me plenty of carry.

It was obvious that I had a lower sidespin than the original driver when I began hitting this club with a monitor. Side spin on the ball is more important than the amount of misses. With this club, you could miss the shot, and still end up in the fairway. Even more important, missed shots can help you stay out of the woods. Although I am not saying that this will fix your problem, I noticed an improvement in my driving skills in the weeks following my purchase.

Ping G410 Plus has been my best friend. I can now play on the left side of the course using this driver. In the past, my misses were to both the right and left side of the course, and I could literally hit it anywhere from the tee box. With my driver I moved the weight from the Fade position to the Fade position. It is now certain that I will get the ball down the middle. The driver was a great help in lowering your scores. Although this took some practice, it’s worth the effort. Although it may sound strange, this setup has really worked well for me.

It seems to also hold its own against competitors. Ideally, the sliding weight appears to reduce shot bias and have little effect on forgiveness.
