Ping’s G400 Driver was a hit last year and became one of the most popular on the market. Ping has released a driver this year that combines the level of forgiveness you expect from Ping with the adjustability you would find in top-performing drivers – the G410 Plus Driver.

Bubba Watson has been enjoying PING’s G410 Plus driver. Since he put it in his bag, his accuracy on the tee is greatly improved. As we had heard many positive things about the G410 Plus, the driver of G410 Plus arrived at GolfMagic Headquarters.

G410 Plus is the first driver to feature a removable 16g tungsten weight at the head. You can slide the weight to a draw or fade setting which will alter your shot shape by ten yards in the chosen setting. It is the forgiveness of PING drivers that makes them so popular. The brand wanted to keep it adjustable. So the weight has been placed in the very back of the clubhead to keep the MOI really high, so you’re still getting all the forgiveness you expect when buying a drievr from PING. GolfMagic’s Jack Seddon plays the PING G410+ at Farleigh Golf Club.

Video Transscription:

So today, we are going to review the Ping G410 Plus driver. It’s not going to be your typical review. The review will not be about whether it feels good or looks good. It will simply reflect my subjective opinion.

This is where we get to the heart of the matter. We will discuss the technology behind this driver that has made it the best technologically-advanced on the market.

You won’t find a better driver than him. We’re going to talk about the real science that goes into that, that makes that the case.

So, let’s die right into it. My task was to interview some engineers from Ping. They are great clubs.

The Bottom Line

Ping is known for its quality and high performance. However, Ping also emphasizes engineering and forgiveness. My fitting revealed that the recommended shaft was longer than my old driver. It also took several swings for me to adjust to the distance between the ball and my feet. When I was able to get my distance down, it became easy for me to experience the full power and forgiveness offered by this club.

When you hit this club in the center of the clubface, you can feel the “tramponline” effect on the ball. You can actually feel the ball coming off of the club. Most impressive to me was not how well the balls were struck, but the “mishits”. Even with balls I hit poorly, my dispersion was not bad and still had plenty of carry.

I was able to see that my sidespin was significantly lower after starting this club. You can expect a more severe miss if you put more spin on your side. This club means that you can miss the shot while still getting in the fairway. Importantly, misses could keep you out the woods or the penalty areas. Although I am not saying that this will fix your problem, I noticed an improvement in my driving skills in the weeks following my purchase.

Ping G410 Plus men’s driver has provided me with the biggest advantage: I am able to eliminate the right side. My past misses had been to the left and the right side of the fairway. With this driver, I can hit it from any tee box. The driver assisted me in lowering the weight from the Fade to ensure that it would reach the Fade position. This took some getting used to but it is worth the effort. This setup may seem backwards to you, but it really has worked for my game.

It seems to also hold its own against competitors. The ideal sliding weight would increase shot bias, but not have an impact on forgiveness.

The Ping Golf driver remains high quality, even though it was only launched in 2019. Enjoy this review? Please keep checking back to our website for more information on the latest gadgets, products, and training aids.
