What You Should Know: The “PING G410+ Drive Review

The choice between so many models can sometimes be overwhelming.

So today, we are going to review the Ping G410 Plus driver. This review isn’t your usual. We won’t be discussing all of the, it feels good, it looks good, our personal opinions on it.

This is where we get to the heart of the matter. We will discuss the technology behind this driver that has made it the best technologically-advanced on the market.

You’re not going to find a driver that’s any hotter, any more forgiving, any better than this driver. It’s going to be about all the science and engineering that go into this, which makes it the case.

So, let’s die right into it. The interview I conducted was with engineers at Ping. Full disclosure: I am Brand Ambassador for Ping so my biases are disclosed. These clubs are my favorite.

Bubba Watson has found the G410 driver to be a huge hit with his PING staff. Since he put it in, his accuracy off of the tee is now much higher. G410 Plus driver arrived in the Golf. MagicHQ said that it was an impressive driver, as there were many positive reviews of this giant stick.

For the first time in a PING driver, the G410 Plus has a moveable 16g tungsten weight in the back of the head. Adjusting the weight setting to draw or fade will change the shot shape. This can alter the distance by 10 yards. What PING drivers are best known for is how forgiving they are, so the brand didn’t want to lose that aspect making it adjustable. PING placed the weight at the back to maintain a high MOI. So you will still receive the forgiveness you are used to when purchasing a PING clubhead. The video is available at Golf. ClubTest 2020 has tested and evaluated 28 new drivers. Here are the Ping G410 Plus results.

Price: $500/BUY NOW Lofts : 9.5@, 10.5@, 12@. We take: The perimeter draw, neutral, and fade are weighted so that there is 20 yards draw and fade. This 455cc multimaterial construction has a T9S+ forged face, which is heat-treated to improve face deflection. The head’s efficiency is enhanced by the stiffened structure of the crown.

Robot’s perspective: Did well in mid-speed games for accuracy and carrying. You can also forgive heels.

Drivers

The G410 Plus might have made it the first Ping-designed driver with moveable weighs.

This weighting system works well because you can make adjustments to the setup without needing to switch weights with other models. It is possible to change the bias without much effort, but that could be an issue.

The G410 Plus offers a lot more flexibility than the downsides. Tour players have the freedom to set-up the G410 Plus as they wish. You can also customize your G410 Plus driver.

What does the Ping G410 Plus cost to drive?

The price of the G410 driver varies from retailer to retailer but starts from around PS359/$443.

Ping claims quality, performance and engineering excellence. The shaft I received was much shorter than the one that I had used before, so it was a few swings until my distance from the ball was comfortable. You could begin to feel the real power and forgiveness with this club once you had your distance.

If you hit the club in the middle, the “tramponline” effect will be visible on the ball. The club can be felt as the ball is coming out of it. The most remarkable thing about this club was not its well-struck balls. It was my “mishits”, which really made me love it. Even with balls I hit poorly, my dispersion was not bad and still had plenty of carry.

It was obvious that I had a lower sidespin than the original driver when I began hitting this club with a monitor. A miss is much more likely to occur if there’s too much side spin. This club allows you to miss the shot and still make it in the fairway. Even more important, missed shots can help you stay out of trouble in the fairway and penalty areas. This will not eliminate these issues but I was able to see a significant improvement in my driving precision in the few weeks after my purchase.

Ping G410 Plus men’s driver has provided me with the biggest advantage: I am able to eliminate the right side. In the past, I had misses on both the right- and left sides of the course. Now, it is possible to hit the ball from anywhere within the tee boxes. The driver helped me slide the weight up to Fade. Now I know I can either hit it down the middle, or I will draw. While it was difficult to adjust to the driver being in my hand, confidence with him is a powerful tool that will help you to lower your scores. This may seem strange or counterintuitive, but it has helped me tremendously.

It appears to perform well in comparison with the rest of the field. Ideally, it seems that the sliding weight increases shot bias while having no effect on forgiveness.

Even though this driver was launched in 2019, it is still a high quality driver in the Ping Golf lineup. This review was enjoyed. Please visit our website frequently for updates about the latest golf products, training aids, and gadgets.

The G410 Plus is what I own. With the original shaft (which I was fit for) I actually preferred and got better results from the G400 LST that it replaced. It was an issue I encountered that was discussed in the Most Wanted testing. Both my misses went in the same direction. I tried to remove the shaft from my G400 with an adapter. This was a Ping upgrade, but the G410 didn’t work. When I received the Motore test, I had just thought about a visit to my fitter. This one should be checked out. It worked for many guys, including me.

Another question was asked about G410 fairway woodens. You can also take a test in the official review section. That was the first year I was fortunate enough to take part in it. Our Driver and long iron were separated by the gap. We were then fitted by Ping. The gap was filled by 5 hybrid, 4 and 3 hybrid. He took them out and put 9 wood, 7 wood and 5 wood in their place. I like both the 7 and 7 wood. The 5 wood is my favourite. The 9-wood is fine, it hits it very well. However, it doesn’t strike the wind as effectively as the 6 iron.

It is a fantastic club to use for lifting balls out from the water or the bush. On a handful of holes, there are very rare wind conditions that might allow me to strike it off the hole.
