My daughter, whom is a D1 level golfer, was recently fitted into the G425 LST and absolutely it. She played the TM SIM Max with the Venus Velocore shaft with great results, but tended to spin the ball too much and her shots tended to leak off to the right. After her fitting with the Ping, her spin came down to about 2500-2600 and gained an average of 4-5 MPH of ball speed. Also, squaring the face up was easy compared with the TM which is very open at the address. Rear weight port placed on the heel and increased from 17g to 14g. The new driver for her was created after the Fuji shaft was inserted back into the Ping Head. Excellent results were obtained on this course. On well struck shots, easily averaged a gain of about 10-15 more yards compared to the TM. She tends to miss on her heel, so those shots traveled less but still remained on the fairway. The G425 Max Max was also tried, but the spin rate was a bit too high. Calloway LS Max Max also came in our hands, although her numbers were more consistent with the Ping. However, she enjoyed the bounce of the ball. The TM felt dead when compared to the Ping. Cheers.

The driver of the PINGG425 LST delivers its named feature. A drop in speed of approximately 200 between the G425 LST/Max and G425 LST was what I observed. Your mileage will vary so get in shape before buying.

What has impressed me about PING’s LST drivers is how they remain very forgiving and stable despite being lower spinning. Although there are some limitations to forgiveness, the G425 LST is still very playable. Even when I hit shots off the heel, the distance was very respectable and the ball didn’t fly off the planet. As its predecessor, G425 LST offers incredible forgiveness.

The G425 LST driver boasts the same substantial adjustability as the G425 Max. Loft can be adjusted by as little as 1.5 degrees. You should not forget the Flat position – this is an invaluable tool for golfers who want to pull and hook their tee shots. There is also a weight in the back with three positions – Fade, Neutral, or Draw. The LST weighs 17 grams more than the Max, but the effect is still significant.

Also like the G425 Max, PING offers a great array of stock shafts in the G425 LST driver. Three models are exclusive: PING Tour and Alta Distanza, the ALTA CB55 Slate model, and PING Tour. For the player that wants a hot aftermarket shaft in their driver, PING also offers the Aldila Rogue White 130 MSI [review HERE ] and Mitsubishi TENSEI AV Orange in 55 and 65 gram weights.

Ping was my destination in October for me to be fitted with the length shaft and the type that would best suit my needs as a driver. Although I was not allowed to use the G425, I tried the G410 heads. I found that the LST 9 degrees was the best for me. I also used a Ping Tour65 shaft. Therefore, the G425 Driver was an LST model. With the identical shaft it gave me the club most suited to my needs so I could truly evaluate.

The driver was compared to the G410 LST at LSH Auto and Mercedes Benz Stockport with Trackman 4 balls. Reddish Vale Golf Club allowed me to take it to the course and test it.

While I have already covered a lot of the model adjustability, I would like to highlight the hosel adjustment that Ping calls “Trajectory Tuning 2.0”

It is possible to change the height of the head, as with all major manufacturers. Simply remove the head from the socket and place it in a new position on the hosel. Ping allow for a movement of up to 1.5 degrees higher or lower.

A special feature of Ping that I find almost unheard-of is the option to pick a flatter lying angle with neutral loft, +1 loft or -1 loft. It is not only beneficial for me and short-sighted golfers, but it can also be used by those who want to narrow out their approach angle to improve spin loft, launch conditions, or reduce spin loft.

The Sure. Titleist’s fit hosel adjustment is also available in flat and upright settings. However, these can also be selected to adjust the loft or face angle.

We’ve found so far that speed swingers who are good at hitting the ball well will be the most successful with spin-driven low spin players.

Be aware that those with positive angles have naturally lower spin rates. You will have to be fitted professionally by a club fitter to know if you are in need of a low spinning head. You’ll need to find out your current launch angles and spin rates to be able to make an educated decision about whether the Ping G425 LST driver will be beneficial for you.

OK, we’re ready for Ping G425LST Driver Overall Performance & Appearance Ping drivers are excellent. The G400 and G410 series have been absolutely stunning all around drivers, and the G425 series is no different. You can save money by choosing an older model, even though they look almost the same.

At address the Ping G425LST driver looks just like other models but is a bit smaller. LST drivers have 445cc heads, while SFT or MAX head are 460cc. It’s common for low-spin driver heads to be a tad more compact that others.

I think the club head looks bigger because of the popular dragon-fly design that is on the all-black crown. This is great to feel extra forgiveness while you’re standing above the ball at the tee.
