Big Change

It’s still getting to know the driver. It’s easier to make off-center contact with. My previous driver’s sound was muted, and I don’t get any audible feedback until the point of impact. The matt finish is my favorite. As I become more familiar with the club, I feel confident.

Yes.

I recommend this product.

Delivers As Promised

Below is my detailed review. Ping G400 is my driver. I stated I would not purchase another driver unless the club had a higher M.O.I. Enter Ping G425 Max. Ping is a respected company with a reputation for making equipment that’s easy to use. The driver was new to me and I took my course. The club did deliver as promised. It kept me in the fairway all day. I was able to hit strikes that seemed like they were errant with my G400 and found the fairway. I went to the range first and decided to play in the draw setting, even though it is my preferred swing shape. The draw setting seemed to be able to stop a push becoming a slice. However, it also didn’t burn my draws. The club simply wanted to remain in the slot at the bottom of the upswing, and so narrow the dispersion.

Yes.

I recommend this product.

Performance

Let’s go to the bottom of the matter: Was PING able to maintain adjustability on the G410 Plus, while simultaneously increasing forgiveness? Yes. The G425 Max delivers on that promise in a big way.

In testing the G425 Max head to head with my G410 Plus, the most obvious difference was the superior forgiveness of the G425 Max. G425 Max’s mishits were consistently less frequent due to a stronger launch and higher spin numbers. This means that there is less space between your best swings, and the rest of the golfers. If you compare the G425 Max and the rest on the market, there aren’t many that offer as much forgiveness. You want the most consistency from the driver of the G425Max.

It is remarkable that the G425 Max can achieve this increased forgiveness without sacrificing adjustability. This adapter is identical to the last one so that all eight shafts can be used. Loft can also be adjusted upwards or downwards by up to 1.5 degrees. You can place the 26-gram back weight in one of three positions: Fade, Neutral or Draw. Each position will have an effect on both the ball flight as well as the location of the sweet spots.

As one of the leaders in custom fitting, PING offers a great array of stock shafts in the G425 Max driver. You can choose from three exclusive models: the ALTA CB55Slate, PING Tour or Alta Distanza. PING also has Aldila Rogue White130 MSI and Mitsubishi TENSEI OAV Orange for those players looking to have a hot shaft.

Performance

It lives up to its name, the PING G425LST driver. A drop of approximately 200 RPM was observed between the G425 LST/Max and the G425 LST. Your mileage will vary so get in shape before buying.

What has impressed me about PING’s LST drivers is how they remain very forgiving and stable despite being lower spinning. The G425 LST requires a small amount of forgiveness. However, there’s no need for a handicapper to play the G425. Even when hitting the heels, I found the distance to be very respectable. The ball did not fly off the earth. Similar to its predecessor the G425 LST boasts a remarkable forgiveness-to-looks ratio.

G425LST offers the same level of adjustability as G425Max. Loft can be adjusted up or down as much as 1.5 degrees. The “Flat” position shouldn’t be overlooked either – it’s a godsend for those who hook and pull their tee shots. The weight is located in the back and can be used to either Fade, Neutral or Draw. The LST weighs 17 grams more than the Max, but the effect is still significant.

Also like the G425 Max, PING offers a great array of stock shafts in the G425 LST driver. You can choose from three exclusive models: the ALTA CB55Slate, PING Tour or Alta Distanza. PING provides hot aftermarket shafts for the driver of players, including the Aldila Rogue White130 MSI [reviewHERE] and Mitsubishi Tensei AV Orange (55 and 65 gram).

Adjustability

Much of the adjustability in these models has been touched on in the above section, but I’d like to mention the hosel adjustability that Ping title “Trajectory Tuning 2.0”.

It is possible to change the height of the head, as with all major manufacturers. Simply remove the head from the socket and place it in a new position on the hosel. Ping allow for a movement of up to 1.5 degrees higher or lower.

A special feature of Ping that I find almost unheard-of is the option to pick a flatter lying angle with neutral loft, +1 loft or -1 loft. This can be beneficial to short golfers such as me. It also helps those wanting to lower their angle of attack in order to optimise spin loft and launch conditions.

Because the Sure. Titleist offers flat- and even upright fitting hosel adjustments. These settings can be adjusted to automatically alter the loft, face angle, or both.

Ping G425 Driver Review – Golf Insider Verdict I could go on and on about how amazing the Ping G425 Range of drivers in this review. In reality, though the verdict is quite straightforward. The result is an exceptional driver, which offers a variety of fitting options that will suit all golfers at a very affordable price.
