Ping’s G2 was our favourite 2005 driver. Ping G5 now has the edge over it. Ping G5 has surpassed it, but we are not convinced that the brand is moving as fast.
No need to worry if you’ve already bought the Ping G5 – this is as solid as ever, just with subtle updates. This is the best-performing driver we tested, with a record breaking speed and great alignment.
2007 Review. We understand what you are saying. “How could a club that costs PS239 be awarded our Best Driver Award for PS199?” Ping’s recommended retail price for this club is PS239, but in reality most golf shops are selling it for PS199. The Ping G5 is included in this group.
PS200 might be the maximum you are willing to pay for a driver. However, there are many excellent clubs out there – and we believe this club is the best. This driver is sturdy, reliable and has the soothing tinkling sound you’ve come to appreciate.
Is The Ping G5 Driver Any Good?
The G5 remains in the hands of many golfers, even years later. Ping’s G5 is one the greatest drivers. The G5 delivers a powerful, direct ball flight and optimizes distance. You won’t find a better driver with the proper head and shaft combination.
What is the best Ping G5 Driver for beginners?
While the Ping G5 may appear like an old friend, I find it to be a very useful club. This is due to the 12 degrees of loft that improves the forgiveness. It is a great club for beginners, as it’s very accommodating and affordable.
Can The Ping G5 Drive be Forgiving?
