A Crossbody Tote That I Didn’T Know I Needed

Today I am out with my Crossbody Tote made of leather from Portland Leather Goods. I want to share some thoughts and information about the Crossbody Tote that I purchased from Portland Leather Goods. This is my second review of bags from them; if you haven’t read it, you can find it by following this link The Crossbody Tote they carry is available in many colors. The texture and firmness of the bag will differ depending on what color you pick. I decided to purchase the bag in Grizzly color because I wanted the tote to have some structure and not too floppy. To make the bag more secure and maintain its structure, I added a zipper to it. The last thing I want is my stuff falling out of the bag when I am driving.

It smelled exactly like my previous backpack. If you like the smell of a new leather bag, you definitely need to consider getting yourself one! They used the perfect amount of leather for this bag. It was durable and long-lasting. It was not heavy, but it wasn’t too heavy. My opinion was that the tote’s crossbody strap was too narrow. The bag is fashionable, but it won’t fit well if the contents are heavy. When I find the perfect color for my bag, I will probably get a longer/wider strap.

I tend to not keep much of my belongings in storage. If I’m busy I tend to just put my stuff on the chair, rather than properly storage them. After I got it, the empty crossbody bag was laid on my chair. Due to being distracted by too many other things, it stayed put in the office until I moved it around for a while. It began folding at its bottom. If I had not been distracted by so many other things, the bag would have been properly packed and stored to avoid it. However, it was still possible to rectify the problem before it became permanent.

Overall I do enjoy using this crossbody tote from Portland Leather Goods. The gray version was great and I even bought another while there was a Deal of the Day. All I now need is good weather, so all my PLG bags can be put to good use.

Madewell Vs. Leather Tote Fashionable Vs. Cuyana

Updated March 10, 2018, ***I noticed that this blog post was getting a lot of traffic so it seemed like the right time to update.

I’ve since sold my Madewell bag because it was starting to collect dust in my closet. It was mainly used as a purse large enough to hold diapers and other baby supplies for my children. They’ve grown so much that I now prefer a small crossbody or tote. One of the Madewell’s smaller crossbody bags was sold to me, so I decided to purchase another Madewell bag. The leather strap feels thinner and more synthetic than genuine leather. The strap is held together by a number of brass knobs, not a buckle.

Even though my Able bag is still in use, it’s not something I do a lot with. I recently was gifted a second bag from them, the Tirhas Saddlebag , and I use it quite a bit.

Cuyana gifted me merchandise and I promoted an event last spring. Because my previous tall tote felt too high for me, I decided on the Classic Tote in caramel. I love the Classic tote. The caramel color is much richer than before. I’d highly recommend this bag.

A long time ago, I found one of my favorite blogger friends – a gal named Grechen – when I was deep in the throws of an internet search on leather totes. Fast forward several years and I found my very own stash of leather totes. After using the totes for the past one to two year, I thought it was high time to share my experience. That’s the beauty and power of the internet. You can see feedback about almost everything before you even buy it. I mean, how valuable is that? If you don’t pay attention, it can become a maze. Below, I have compiled my thoughts along with any questions to give you straight-forward reviews about the Zip Transport Tote (Madewell), the Mamuye Leather Tote (Fashionable) and the Tall Leather Tote. How long I owned it: 1 year, 11 months. What I love the most is that the leather in this bag. Although it is strong enough to hold some structure, the natural grain and creases of this tote have started to show. The leather has been sealed properly so I don’t need to worry about spills.

What I dislike the most: The handles on this bag are too narrow to make it a true tote. I can drape my bag on my forearm, or wear it cross-body. Sometimes it’s hard to believe that the bag can be carried over my shoulder with the handle at the end.

China. Shape + Weight: The bag’s extra leather strap and brass detailing add a touch of weight, but it still feels light for a bag. Zip Transport Tote comes with an inner pocket, is lined, and has a zipper. This bag is well-shaped because the leather is quite thick. When stuffed chock full, the bag still retains its original shape.
