Is Scholarshipowl expensive?
ScholarshipOwl has a fee-based model. Some basic services can be used for free and some premium features will require payment. How do you know which ScholarshipOwl functions are free and which ones aren’t?
Good question. Creating a ScholarshipOwl account and being able to view your scholarship matches is free. You cannot apply directly to scholarship matches from the website. You can choose from a variety of payment options, each with their own pricing, features and billing periods. Let’s take a look at each one:

As we learned, ScholarshipOwl is free to use but it isn’t free if you want to use the platform to apply to scholarships. There is a 7 day free trial for each plan so you can have a look before paying. While the screenshot displays four columns, there are actually three payment plans that cover one paid service tier and Elite.
Three payment options are available for the paid service. Pay monthly and it will cost you $20 per month. You can pay monthly or quarterly for $15 per mo. If you pay twice a year, it drops the price down to $10 per month. These plans allow you to access the scholarship program and to submit online applications.
Only 100 Elite spots are available each month. The cost of the Elite package is $499. The Elite package includes a personal admissions coach and access to online tutorials. A professional essay review is also included.
Is Scholarship Owl Worth It?
Scholarship Owl didn’t receive a score in this review, as I haven’t used it. I’m now nearly twenty years removed from applying to colleges so I don’t want to spend time applying (and potentially winning but then declining) to scholarships.
It is an online scholarship search engine. The tracking feature will allow you to be kept up-to-date on any scholarship application status. You can submit your scholarship applications in bulk and then use the tracking tool to keep track of them.
This service could be tried for 7 days and you’d find it to your liking. For $10-$20 per calendar month, you can still try it. Don’t forget to cancel if the fee is not what you need anymore.
ScholarshipOwl is not the only option. There are also ScholarshipPoints Cappex, Scholly Scholarship America Scholarship points Cappex and Chegg Scholarships Scholly Scholarship America Scholarship points Cappex. Scholly charges $2.99 per month, but others do not. You can give them all a try to compare their offerings.

ScholarshipOwl charges based on length of membership. It costs $20 per month if you only pay monthly. If you sign-up for the whole quarter, $15/month.
