Who it’s best for

If you want a super forgiving, high flying driver with a huge sweet spot and a draw bias, the TaylorMade SIM2 MAX-D is the driver that you are looking for…. but only if you can afford it. As I said, the cost of a driver is $530. This includes taxes, shipping/fees and tax. The driver will cost you $530 plus taxes/shipping/fees. If that is acceptable to you, great! This driver is likely to stay current for 5-10 more years so it’s not necessary that you upgrade before the next 10 years.

If you don’t want the draw bias, then stick with the SIM2 Max. For a lower launching speed, and a more efficient spinning driver (ideally to improve swing speeds), stick with SIM2 (standard).

You can find a cheaper alternative that performs almost the same if you want the driver but aren’t ready to fork out the cash.

Why You Should Avoid These Things

SIM2 Max D Driver is intended for players with higher handicaps and can be used if you suffer from a persistent fade, a devastating slice or want the ball to fly more freely.

TaylorMade was able to preserve forgiveness and increase draw bias by moving 22g of weight (the entire Inertia generator) towards its heel.

This draw bias will give you more distance if your game is consistent. The SIM2 Max D can also be used to protect you against shots that could cause you to shoot lower scores.

If you want to make the most of your game, consider switching over to the SIM2 Max D.
