You can share this on other sites. Mizuno JPX-900 are in backup. It’s the SLDR at this point. They are great performers when used with stock KBS Tour 90.

Just to be clear, the stock steel shaft in the SLDR irons is a TM exclusive shaft known as the KBS C-Taper 90, (a different shaft than the KBS Tour 90). KBS didn’t offer C-Taper 90 as a TM-exclusive. This shaft is lightweight, high-launching, and faster spinning than the KBS Tour 90. It should not be confused or used in conjunction with the KBS C-Taper Lite (Satin Finish), which both are also available from KBS. Although the stock SLDR C-Taper90 shaft received mixed reviews. Mid-handicappers love its ease of launch. However, it can launch too high for strong players and may spin too fast in windy conditions. Read the Rick Shiels SLDR review to learn more about the shaft’s high launch. Click here for the full article.

Make sure that your shaft fits perfectly for the game you are playing!

Share on other sites Posted Thought I would bump my post ben a few months now, I’m really enjoying playing these irons I keep getting the urge to try something else only set that comes to mind right now is the P770 irons with same shaft setup.

Wasn’t able to really look at them side by side, but I took a quick peak at the 770’s the other day when I was in the store picking up some new gloves. First impression: they looked small compared to SLDR. At first, I was tempted to buy a 750. But no. Still want to demo them but based on that quick look, still have no desire to replace the SLDR irons. Callaway Apex CF 16’s might be the best option.

A 2016 King Cobra Forged Tec option is also worth looking at. Also, the stock shaft of those shafts is the KBS C-Taper Lite. This is an extremely high-quality iron shaft. These have received glowing reviews! Although this iron does not have a forge clubhead, it has a forge clubface. Similar applies to the Cleveland 588TT forged face irons. These are also considered ‘tweeners. The latter Cleveland’s TT’s look good, feel good, and perform well, and like the SLDR irons, these are a little older so they can be had on the cheap. However, the 95-gram stock steel shaft in the 588 TT’s is not very good, so if you go that route, I strongly recommend you install a different shaft. Both these irons can be used as ‘distance irons’, such as the SLDR.

KING COBRA FORGED TEC IRON THE STOCK KBS C- TAPER LITE SHAFT IS EXCELLENT!

It was difficult to compare the two, so I just took a few seconds to look at each one while shopping at the store for some gloves. First impression: they looked small compared to SLDR. The 750 seemed smaller than the SLDR’s, which I assumed was a mistake. While I’d love to see them in action, I can confirm that they don’t have the same appeal as my SLDR irons. Callaway Apex CF 16s is probably what I would like to try.

Another option for a ‘tweener is the 2016 King Cobra Forged Tec. The stock shaft is the KBS C-Taper Lite which is an exceptional iron shaft. You can see the rave reviews about these products! The iron doesn’t have a clubhead forged, however it does feature a clubface forged. Same goes for the Cleveland 588-TT forged faced irons, which are also ‘tweeners’. The Cleveland’s TT’s last two are a great choice. These irons feel and look great and can also be purchased at a very affordable price. However, the 95-gram stock steel shaft in the 588 TT’s is not very good, so if you go that route, I strongly recommend you install a different shaft. These irons are both strong-lofted SLDR’s, which is why they’re called ‘distance Irons’.

KING COBRA FORGED TECIRON – KBS C-TAPER LITE IS AN EXCELLENT SHAFT CLEVELAND CLEVELAND 5888TT – GOOD LUBHEAD NOT SO GREAT SHAFT THE TT’s had a wonderful feel but didn’t always feel overly confident at the distances…always felt like they were more dispersed short/long.

The SLDR photos remind me of how my F6 middle irons looked! The photos are nearly identical. They are both amazing clubs.

First impression: they looked small compared to SLDR. First, I thought I’d grabbed the 750 but it was not true. Although I would like to test them out, I don’t think they are the right product for me. Callaway Apex CF 16’s are probably the only option I might want to check out.

A 2016 King Cobra Forged Tec option is also worth looking at. Also, the stock shaft of those shafts is the KBS C-Taper Lite. This is an extremely high-quality iron shaft. See the reviews. Even though this iron is not a forge, the clubface of it is forged. Also, the Cleveland 588-TT irons with forged faces are referred to as ‘tweeners’. These TT’s from Cleveland look great, feel great, and perform well. They are also a bit older than the SLDR irons so you can get them for a fraction of the price. However, the 5-88 TT’s stock-steel shaft weighs 95g so it is not recommended to be used. The irons I have mentioned are strong-lofted SLDR’s ‘distance Irons’.
