Reports suggest that the XH70 model is an EU-equivalent. But, this model uses Sony’s Linux operating system.

A the beginning of 2020 all major manufacturers presented their new TVs that will keep us company through the rest of the year and as it is common most attention falls on their higher end models as these bring with them the most advanced and latest technologies each manufacturer has to offer. But while all these top flagships from Sony are great there is a huge number of consumers looking for something more affordable for their entertainment. Our Sony X750H TV review will show you how this 4K TV is affordable.

With the X750H we will begin a series of reviews where we will be looking at many of their latest offerings but today we go directly to the bottom of the performance ladder and see if this model has what it takes to offer a decent 4K HDR experience. Based on our experiences, TVs that claim to support 4K HDR have a poor performance and fall short of expectations. The X750H is no exception.

Let’s move on to the smart TV functionality. Sony has stood by the Android platform for many decades. These platforms have been renamed Android TV. There have been major updates and changes over the last 2 years, in order to keep up with rivals like LGs’ web and Samsungs Tizen. OS. Sony seems to have been consistent in 2020 with its smart TV platform, as the entire line uses Android TV Suite. Except for the X750H.

Even though the model being reviewed had an Android TV installed, there are some areas where a Linux TV system is used instead. Although the reason behind this change is unclear, it should be considered when searching for this model. All of our analyses will use the Android TV software that we were able to access from the device.

The X750H has Android TV 9.0. However, this device appears to be lacking some of the more costly options. It is still the most popular Android system that we’ve seen recently, with its many redesigned parts making it easy to use and feel fresh. We should mention navigation, as the system in our unit was slow and did not provide the seamless experience that we expected. Although opening applications might take slightly longer than normal, if you’re not demanding the time will become second nature.

Android TV users who have previously used the service will know what to expect. This layout works better than older Android versions. Some options have been moved to top, while other aspects of Android Platform and Operation System interactivity are improved.

Android boasts a huge amount of developers’ support. Through the included Google Play you can find literally thousands of apps that you can download and use except from the pre-installed ones. There is so much content available that you will definitely find the ones you are looking for and the list goes on and on.

Google Play TV & Movies has many of the largest names like Disney+ (and Amazon Video), Google Play TV & Movies (and Hulu), Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Video and Sling TV. Heart. Radio. Many of them can only be used in certain regions, so check yours to ensure they are available. For those that are interested in this, Youtube and Netflix offer support for HDR or 4K playback.

Chromecast can be downloaded here. You will also have the option to stream content to the TV from Chromecast enabled devices. The TV can also be controlled by voice but the functionality is less impressive than on other models. By that we mean that although you can use the remote’s built-in microphone to give commands to Google Assistant for Amazon Alexa you will need an external Alexa enabled device to work.

The X750H television is a very affordable TV. It should be treated as one. Sony has produced a highly respectable TV. There are many areas in which the unit falls short, but if this is its target audience, then Sony’s 2020 model will definitely shine.

First, let’s talk about the positive points. The X750H, while it may not be the most expensive model in its class, looks fantastic. It also has a far superior remote design than any other comparable product. Four thousand images turned out to be quite good, with clear details and excellent clarity. The upscaling of all content was flawless. A VA panel provides a great contrast ratio with blacks that are deep and excellent color reproduction. This TV is a great low-cost gaming device. The SDR brightness was excellent considering what you receive. In Game mode, input lag was minimal which made it an attractive option. Although audio was not very good, Android TV’s features were sufficient to allow casual viewing.

HDR brightness wasn’t very high and the TV didn’t show HDR content the way it was intended. Even though the VA panel offers a high contrast ratio, the TV does poorly in viewing angles. Motion performance was also not good, but it is still better than we expected. The TV does not have any new HDMI 2.1 features such as VRR and ALLM. This can make the television a big deal considering the arrival of new gaming consoles. This is also the last model from Sony that doesn’t support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. You will need to get the next model, the X800H.

We were not surprised that the TV performed more than we expected. The TV did have some issues, but overall it was a good TV. It is not suited for high-end or very specific requirements. If you’re looking for a TV to watch casually or use for gaming, the Sony X750H is a good choice. It will give you what you want and more.
