Review Summary

This handy tool is great for DIYers. The user can use the Work Switch Driver to get a strong drill with two different chucks. You can swivel the head for quick access to the chuck, so you can have a drill bit in one and a screwdriver in the other for quickly drilling and inserting screws in your project without needing to change bits. This function can save you considerable time if you have a large project like a fence to build.

We’ll take a look at some of the cons and pros to help you decide if this is right for you.

Worx Switchdriver Review: Is it a useful tool or a gimmick?

Handyman’s World is an Amazon Services LLC Associates Program participant. The program provides a way for websites to earn advertising fees through linking to Amazon.com.

If you ever built a wood deck or worked on another project that required you to switch between drilling pilot holes and tightening screws, you know how much hassle it can be to have to switch your drilling and driving bits over and over again.

The WORX Switchdriver might not be the best option. This unique impact driver has two chucks.

Read on to learn about the pros and cons of this product, its comparison with other impact drivers, and whether you should buy it.

What is WORX Switchdriver and How Does It Work?

Two chucks allow you to switch between bits efficiently. Two batteries are included.

What is Worx Assistive Technology?

WORX is a manufacturer originally from China that offers a portfolio of lawn and garden equipment as well as power tools aimed mainly at homeowners and DIY enthusiasts. WORX is a manufacturer of standard tools. However, they also make innovative tools like the WORX Switch Driver or a 2-in-1 reciprocating see/jigsaw.

Regular impact drivers have a chuck that you can attach some bits to.

You can quickly change between two different types of the Switchdriver by rotating the base. Apart from that it’s a basic impact driver.

WORX 20 volt batteries are used to power it. They can also be used with Power Share-compatible devices made by the company. It comes with two batteries and a charger. A Philips bit, two wood drill bits and a charger are included with the package.

In terms of performance, it offers two different speed settings and has electronic torque control – both helping you with delivering the exact amount of rotation for whatever job you need to get done.

Additionally, the light is equipped with an LED lamp that can help with drilling holes and tightening screw in darkened areas.

The Worx Switchdriver Pros

Now you will have a good idea of the WORX Switchdriver impacts driver’s benefits. Now let’s examine them more in detail.

First, it’s a highly productive tool. You don’t have to pull out a drill bits and place a driver in each time. Instead, press the button and turn the head to activate your desired bit. For larger projects this could save you time and effort.

Second, the tool’s rotation is very controllable. The variable speed trigger makes it spin more quickly if you push the button deeper. However, it also features an electronic torque control which lets you adjust the maximum torque that you apply to screws and separate switches that allow you to choose from two speed settings.

A third advantage is the inclusion of two additional batteries and an adapter. Not having spare batteries to charge tools quickly can add up. It’s an added bonus to have a WORX Switchdriver with two batteries included in the standard version. What is more, those batteries can be used with other 20V WORX tools as well.

Finally, it makes for a great gift. Boring to gift a handyman friend a regular driver is not advisable. This is why it’s a bad idea to gift the WORX Switchdriver to the same person. The WORX Switchdriver combines both the practicality of an impact drive and the novelty that it has two chucks.

Summary

You are probably looking for the answers to one question if you’re reading this review: Is the WORX Switchdriver worthwhile?

It all depends. You can do these two tasks with the tool without needing to modify either of their bits. It is competitive in power, speed, and torque with other impact-drivers.

You can still use other brands’ battery-powered tools, but I don’t recommend getting the Switchdriver. The exception is woodwork that uses lag bolts, or something similar.

If, however, you’re searching for your first impact driver and are likely to switch between various bits often, you might consider purchasing this tool. You might consider a Makita or DeWalt brand if you are looking for a more professional tool.

Comparisons between Cabins

Is it possible that Soedesco had intended to work with SCS? Truck Driver was going to be compared anyway. It’s not hard to believe that the titles above have been in existence for years and have improved with age. This is why it was so confusing that Soedesco decided to launch a product with such basic features.

A few months ago I was mildly satisfied when I reviewed the “sim” game on Switch. So why is this so hard? This is because PCs have had these sims for years. It didn’t catch on with consoles and there wasn’t much to go by. There is an option, and this one seems better.

To bring back the burger analogy, Truck Driver looks like ETS2 and ATS, but it doesn’t “taste” anywhere near as great, so to speak. If it were food, it would be edible, but not enjoyable.

This is the reason I placed quotation marks around the term “sim”, throughout this article. This isn’t a simulation, it’s a gaming game. It’s pretty boring even if it is viewed from this perspective. This isn’t shovelware territory but it does feel a little more restricted than older 18 Wheels of Steel titles.

It has so many missing details. This is the only way I’d recommend this book to people with little simmers. Players like these will love its simplicity. SCS has a wide selection that you can choose to play. These titles are usually on sale so you will be able get them cheaper than what Soedesco is willing to pay for Truck Driver.
