Taylormade Speedblade Irons: Editor Review

SpeedBlades have a great address and a slim(ish) topline. They have a great trampoline-like feel when flushed, and mishits won’t punish your joints. Ball flight can be quite impressive with long irons.

Cons: Trendy-ish design. A bit awkward with long irons for moving the ball. Additionally, the excessive offset may cause some concern to any player who is considering “regressing” toward the game improvement group.

Bottom Line: Strong, patient and forgiving. For low handicap golfers, however, it might be more feasible to have something.

Speedblades are a cavity-back, cast iron with a moderate amount of offset and a brushed finish. Although the shape and size of Speedblades are appealing, they do not seem to be as forgiving.

SpeedBlade Irons are able to have two-tone satin nickel chrome plating, dark smoke satin satin ion plating. This looks fantastic.

Review: HonmaTw737-Vs. forged irons

The bag has an incredible feel throughout. These irons offer considerable forgiveness on mishits, and their slightly stronger lofts generate plenty of distance for a better-player forged iron.

Pros: For some, the $150 per club price is too steep.

Bottom Line: The entire TW737 line boasts impressive specs and looks. The TW737-Vs, with their slightly larger shape and stronger lofts, could be perfect for the player ready to move from game-improvement irons to better players irons or for those those looking for more forgiveness in a forged set.

Game-Improvement Irons: These are usually medium-sized irons. These clubs combine distance, forgiveness and good looks with workability.
