The Dean

The Dean is my best friend. Although the Tecovas cowboy boots pay homage the western aesthetic, they are modernized for incredible versatility. It is super simple to put on the boots thanks to its slim shaft and zipper opening.

I normally wear my cowboy boots with my trousers or jeans pulled over and doing that gives The Dean a fierce and sophisticated look for my casual or fancier attire. The pointed toe also gives it an extra edge that is comparable to conventional dress shoes. The calfskin skin leather offers incredible comfort, molds to your feet and gives you a natural feel.

The Dean boots have received positive reviews. Many of these praise the boot’s look and feel. The Tecovas boot for men is a must-have in your collection, and they are only $235

What I Don’T Like About Tecovas

Do you use poor materials?

Tecovas uses heel counter materials that are not leather, so it may not last as long. Shanks made of plastic are susceptible to cracking and causing squeaking. The leather outsole has been said to be of a lesser quality so you may need to get them resoled sooner. They still may not cause any issues in the future and chances are you may be fine if using for just casual wear. Luchesse, key word being “heard”) has made some mistakes in production. I also heard the Mexican manufactured cowboy boots don’t perform as well as US-made ones.

Fit I am aware of other reviews on Tecovas boots. All reviews are different, and there will be good and bad. I did try a pair on and I wasn’t very pleased with the fit up around the top of my foot which caused way too much heel slip. However, I did go down one size. The pants were not made for me.

Tecovas Review — Are These Boots Worth The Investment?

Tables of Contents The Difference in Pricing These Items Stand Out Important Details The Bottomline

Tecovas boots are handmade cowboy boot brand based in Austin. Website claims that the boots are “handmade and high quality boots, which don’t cost a lot.”

The use of cowboy boots has varied over time, from work on farms to fashion in the office. Which category does Tecovas best fit in?

According to the website of Tecovas, Tecovas boots work better in professional settings than when working outside. Many models don’t have the ability to resist harsh outdoor conditions or weather, so they’re not suitable for riding horses or cleaning out stalls.

Paul Hedrick (the founder of the company) grew sick of going to shoe shops, and spending nearly $1000 on top-quality cowboy shoes. He quit his job in 2014 to travel the globe to find cheaper ways to sell and make boots. He finally made his first pair of boot after 16 months research and many trips through Mexico.

Company claims that not having a storefront lowers prices (about half of what traditional retail is), because there won’t be any middlemen to markup the physical stores.

To help you make an informed decision about whether boots are right for you, this review will examine the details of these boots, their uses and costs.

Tecovas Boots vs Lucchese Boots

We all know the impact that cowboy boots have on fashion. They’re just great, as they embody that sense of rugged individualism that many of us want to project.

Tecovas Boots Prices

Tecovas boots however, are both more cost-effective and functional. Their calfskin and suede boots are within the $200 to $250 price range.

A pair of alligator boots, which are the most costly and comfortable in their range, costs $700. If budget-conscious consumers are your preference, the Tecovas ostrich boots might suit you more. You may also check out a Tecovas ostrich boots review if you would love to try a different, but good boot model under the name.

However, it’s about more than the standard. Every Tecovas review demonstrates that their worth is very well known. Also, the brand recognition of the company doesn’t necessarily add cost.

Plus, they are able to sell online for a lower overhead cost. Additionally, the manufacturing takes place in Mexico which means that labor costs there are significantly lower than US labor. However, customer service in the US is provided.

The original boot designs will still be offered, however, Tecovas is planning to add leather and other color options in the coming month. The number of available products will increase by twofold from last year. The belts are also due to be made available by the company in time for holidays.

This Austin brand, despite only being around for one year has done a remarkable job in establishing itself, gaining attention, and staying true to their core values. I believe that Tecovas’ core values will be a constant as they scale up and become more important.

Non-toxic Masculinity

Bandera was delivered by post in attractive packaging. The smell of new leather goods filled the room while undressing the boots from their secure wrapping. The review here features The Bandera in Clay, which is one of the two colors offered by Tecovas. Umber is a rich, dark brown. When Clay Bandera’s cowboy boots first arrived in my hand, I immediately felt that Marlboro Man Tan was the right name. They looked masculine without the toxicity – macho without the cheese.

Most work boots look the same, but The Bandera manages to find a compromise between a traditional casual cowboy boot and a durable work boot. For weather resistance, the leather is made of bovine. With reinforced pull-taps for strength and waterproof seams, the boot’s shaft is 12 inches. You can slip them on and shock-absorbing insoles are available that you can remove from the boot. They have a leather lining. You will find a 1-inch and 3-quarter-inch leather heel, with rubber soles made from vibram rubber to resist slippage.
