Tour Edge Exotics C721 Driver Reviews

Tour Edge was founded in 1985. It has seen some notable successes in the game of golf and many firsts. But for most people, it’s the last couple of years that has brought Tour Edge to prominence. The reason isn’t just their presence in the PGA Tour Champions. They are also making every club perform as good or better than they were before.

Tour Edge was very successful last year, as well as the Exotics lines. This line saw significant sales gains that the company had not seen in a long time. THP reviewed both EXS220 EXS Pro drivers. THP honestly thought that they had already seen the same design formula the company would be following in the future. My mistake.

C721 is a driver that changes everything. The C721 driver is an original design from the beginning that follows in the footsteps of impressively successful predecessors.

Quick Take No evolution here, the C721 is yet another revolution for Tour Edge and their Exotics line. The C721 is the lowest-spinning driver on the market, yet it has a remarkable playability for its low RPM’s. The driver is not only outside of the norm, it has all the exotics sound, feel and firepower that we are used to. It is worth a try.

From the Ground Up I’ll be honest, I really don’t believe that David Glod and Tour Edge get enough credit for their ability to design and innovate. Tour Edge can be described as many things, including its various layers. But the Exotics group has always stood out for being unafraid to challenge the status quo. The C721 driver is that simple.

Diamond Face 2.0 represents the sole design legacy of the EXS 220 series. With this evolution there are 7 different thicknesses and 43 diamonds on the backside of the face which create variable thickness. Worth noting is that the first version had only 3 thicknesses. Tour Edge has revealed that Diamond Face 2.0, through material and design adjustments, actually decreased the perimeter thickness by 20 percent. Reducing the thickness will increase your ball speed as well, which can lead to more forgiveness especially in the most extreme areas of the face.

C721 also features an adjustable rear backweight. This optimizes the CG for easier launch and greater stability through an increase M.O.I. You can choose from five, 10, 15, 15 or 18-gram options, with 10g for the driver.

Tour Edge Exotics – C721 Driver Review

There’s more to a home than wallpaper and paint. Have you ever fallen in love with a property you were looking at renting or buying? It’s the perfect place to live in. The beautiful bay windows that overlook a picturesque view, the high-quality hardwood floors and the elegant decor are all reasons why you will love it. It’s only until you get there that you begin to see the problems. The paint and wallpaper effect.

This has happened in some cases while trying out new golf equipment. No matter what equipment it is, drivers or fairway metals are irrelevant. It doesn’t matter if a new piece is physically different. But, performance-wise, the equipment will perform exactly as it was intended.

With the launch of the Exotics C721 range from Tour Edge Golf came technical points that made this driver very appealing and a driver that really piqued my curiosity simply because Tour Edge Golf has really been raising the bar every year.

What would the Exotics C721 be like? Would it outperform 2020’s Teezy Award nominated Exotics EXS 222? Would we see legit, bona fide improvements or would this years product appear to be nothing more than paint and wallpaper?

*Editor’s Notice: Tour Edge Golf launched the Hot Launch C721 product line in fall 2020.

The Establishment Over the last three years, Batavia-based golf equipment manufacturer was on a roll. David Glod, the founder and his team, have been manufacturing great products under the radar for many years. The last three-years have, however, been quite a rollercoaster ride. With sales records being set and a plethora of players seen playing their products.

Tour Edge Golf demonstrated in 2019 with the Exotics EXS line that it was possible to offer premium products using high-quality components, significant R&D and without having to charge a premium price. In 2020 the brand had improved significantly from its previous year. Exotics EXS 220 achieved great success (so many Teezy awards were won throughout the product range). The Sound Diffusion Bar made an immediate difference to the acoustics. Bar) a technology used in the world of concert halls, recording studios, and theaters to make the sound more rich. This was not the end. The EXS Pro range was also launched later in the season. I tested and reviewed the EXS Pro hybrid, but I didn’t play the driver, fairway steels, irons, nor the driver. When the 2020 Masters Tournament was played in the fall of 2020, legendary German golfer Bernhard Langer quietly had the EXS Pro hybrid in his bag during his T-29 finish.

Please share this article on another site. Grateful to be chosen to test out the much talked about C721. Thanks to GolfWRX and Tour Edge.

You, me, and my swing, as well as current equipment.

I am a retired professional engineer in my early 60’s and have been a diagnosed golfaholic for about 35 years now. I own my sticks, so I can grip, weight, and even swing weight them. Since my retirement last year, I still play 4-5 times per week. Donald Ross opened the course in 1929. The club is currently home to about 300 avid golfers.

In terms of my game, it is a 6.0 handicap. I usually play the club’s white tees measuring 6140 yards. My driver swing speed is around 90-93 mph. According to my GHIN statistics, I hit the fairway 60% of the time and my typical miss is left – more of a heavy draw than a hook. I have a GIR of 50%, typically short on approach shots, and have 30 puts per round.

C721 Like MillerLowLife I was fascinated to see the Tsi3 and C721 in head-to-head testing. GolfWRX Contest was something I decided to enter because my LTD was getting old. According to TXG and reviews, the C721 appears as great as any other driver. I selected the 10.5 degree head since I typically play my LTD anywhere from 9 to 10.5 depending on conditions. I chose the Ventus Red shaft based on great reviews and my need for a regular flex and light weight. Tour Edge has a wonderful selection of shaft options.

Post this Driver on Other Sites. This weekend, I look forward taking it to the range. The stock smoke 6.5 is what I purchased as I also have a KBS TD which I will use if needed. Quite excited to try this driver out as I got a great deal and also the reviews (while limited) are great. I’ve enjoyed many tour edge products as well and have loved all of them.

Tour Edge C721 Driver Reviews

Tour Edge Exotics Driver Comments: The Hot Face. Low Spin. Fifteen yards longer than my previous driver. Seriously.

I am always skeptical when I see a manufacturer’s claim that a particular club or ball is X yards longer. All of these “yards longer”, I’d be hitting 500-yard drives now.

This is why I don’t expect people to believe that my Tour Edge Exotics C721Driver runs fifteen yards faster than the one before it. However, it is absolutely true.

With the C721 driver, I have regained some of the yards I lost with age and am seriously considering moving back from the senior tees to the mid tees. Maybe not. Playing it forward is great fun. The Tour Edge Exotics C721 driver takes off fast on a sharp mid-height angle, approaches the ground as a plane approaching for a short landing, and then rolls out. (As opposed to some of my other drivers, where the ball behaved more like a F-14 dropping in on a carrier and coming to a sudden halt as it catches with the tail hook).

I love to watch the ball disappear into the slight depression on the par five third at Washtenaw Golf Club , then roll back into sight as the fairway rises again. It’s gone … and then … there it is. A hole that has been driver-hybrid-midiron in recent rounds has been driver-hybrid-wedge.

Tour Edge provided a review copy of a model with a 9.5-degree head and a Ventus 50 Gramr Fujikura shaft. Tour Edge makes sixteen kinds of shafts. It costs $399.

I believe there are several reasons for the distance gain that I have seen.

Tour Edge Exotics C721 Driver Review

Tour Edge is a 35-year old company that has had some major successes as well as many industry firsts. For most, however, it is the last few years that have more than likely brought the brand to attention, and that hinges around their PGA Tour Champions presence, yes, but also the fact that they are making clubs from top to bottom that flat our perform.

Tour Edge’s last year was an important one. Exotics had sales records that were unmatched, including in driver recruitment. THP reviewed both the EXS 220 EXS Pro drivers and honestly I believed we had seen the formula of design the company would follow for the foreseeable future. My mistake.

C721 turns everything on its ear. Unique design, built to replicate the impressively successful predecessors. It works.

This is not an evolution, but the C721 marks another major breakthrough in Tour Edge’s Exotics lineup. The C721 is the lowest-spinning driver on the market, yet it has a remarkable playability for its low RPM’s. While it may not have the most striking exterior, the driver delivers all that the Exotics range is known for: the exhilarating sound, feel and forgiveness. This car is something you should definitely try.

David Glod and Tour Edge, from the Ground up I have to be truthful. They are both incredibly talented at inventing and designing. Tour Edge is a multi-faceted company that offers many options. However, the Exotics line has been a standout because it doesn’t mind being different in pursuit of performance. The C721 driver is that simple.

Diamond Face 2.0, the EXS220 line’s only real design heirloom is its 2.0 version. With this evolution there are 7 different thicknesses and 43 diamonds on the backside of the face which create variable thickness. The original model had just three thicknesses. Tour Edge reports that Diamond Face 2.0 reduced the perimeter thickness to 20% by making material and design improvements. A reduced thickness can increase ball speed and allow for more forgiveness, especially at the extremities of the face.

The C721 is also utilizing an Adjustable Rear Backweight which optimizes the CG to promote an easier launch and increased stability by way of an increased M.O.I. There will be five options for weight: 10g, 15g or 18g. Standard in the driver is 10g.
