Tour Edge Exotics Exs Driver Review

No matter what, it always seems the discussion on new driver releases turns first and foremost to price, and often times in the most judgmental way possible. When the price is perceived to be too high, there will be backlash about the inaccessibility of it. On the other hand, when it is low enough it means that it has an impact on tech quality. This never-ending battle is what brought me a big smile to my face when I first saw the Tour Edge Exotics Exotics driver technology and was then told the price.

Exotics has been a Tour Edge product for many years. It was even used in fairway woods. This was due to the high-end clubs and the exclusive materials used. Tour Edge’s EXS driver costs $299.99. However, Tour Edge does not compromise on technology. Actually, this driver I believe is Tour Edge’s most tech-packed driver. What’s the point of this low price? Because David Glod and his company believe they have a winner and they are willing to roll it out there at a number that will make heads turn. David actually talked to THP about EXS’s driver design and reasons for making the choice they did.

There are two loft options for the EXS: 9.5deg or 10.5deg. The adapter system allows +/- 2 deg adjustment both ways, so you can choose from a wide range of loft options. In this review I tested the 10.5deg version paired to the Mitsubishi Tensei CK Blue in 70S. The stock 45.5″ length was maintained.

The look on the driver’s face was my first impression upon opening the box. The box is triangular, but not as much as the classic pear shape. It’s still very subtle and elegant. The carbon fiber crown is left partially visible to show off the tech and the deep gloss finish features some subtle deep blue metal flakes that really pop in the sunlight. Blended sole and dark face complete a stylish look. It doesn’t feel too modern and keeps the weight and adjustability balanced. Overall, it’s one of the nicest looking cars I have ever seen.

The EXS represents the greatest departure yet for Tour Edge drivers at impact. Carbon Fiber was used to reduce the sound/feel of the crown and toe sections of the sole. It has replaced the Titanium feedback in the EX10 with a muted/solid “thwack”, which is consistent with many other release. This has definitely become “the new normal” in drivers with so much Carbon Fiber being utilized now, and though traditionalists might not care for it, it offers something that the majority will be OK with. This driver will make you sound more harsh if you hit the ground. EXS allows for a more natural feel when misses are made.

This section will contain data from the Foresight GC2, but I will share what I observed. I was seeing lower flights due to the winter swing and the poor weather. But, once things got back on track, the Tensei 70S’ 10.5 degree loft started shining through. With peak heights in the 13’s and an average launch of 12deg, I was able to achieve what I consider a high-quality swing speed. Nod to Tour Edge here as well for going with a “real deal” Tensei 2G shaft here which should quiet some pessimists, and they did it at the $299.99 price point which is pretty wild. With adjustability, the adapter is very flexible. It can go up to +/– 2deg. You can open and close the face just like you would normally. As 9g is in the heel, 3g is in the rear for me, I did not mess around with them too much. Tour Edge has a weight kit available for $59.99.

There will likely be some preconceptions about the EXS due to its price. Many people believe that a lower price tier means more spin. I didn’t see that. The initial sessions were in colder environments at 2300 RPM. I was able to settle down around 2600 RPM in the last session like this one. I also lost 194g, which is the same weight as the EXS head. Based on my swing attributes, I believe the EXS was one of the lower spin heads that I’ve hit this year. This is something I didn’t expect, and I admit to falling prey to some of these preconceived notions. Although some may see 2300-2600 in their eyes and say it’s impossible for them, the truth is that too many golfers have been brainwashed through the 17deg & 1700 RPM campaigns. It is clear that the EXS has a high level of control and FTS gives golfers the ability to set the head for various swing preferences.

Golf Starz Review: Tour Edge Exotics Exs Driver

The old saying “new year, new driver” is a common phrase. I’m not sure, but it sounds plausible.

My new year allows me to take the time to look at my bag and decide if it needs any changes. Now there really isn’t a special formula as to why I choose the new year, it really is based on timing. One, it is impossible for me to know with certainty whether I will be playing golf in Columbus because of the weather. One – almost every company has a stable of new products released around the start of the year. This allows me to check what’s new, possibly get a discounted model last year, etc. Golf Starz was the first place I knew of the golf community. However, having spoken with many consumers throughout the country and listening to their feedback, I have come to realize that every person should be taking stock on WIMB.

You have probably seen the latest clubs on the market if you don’t live beneath a rock.

We asked on twitter how many people have ever tried or hit a Tour Edge club. Full disclosure: I have never swung a Tour Edge Club until the PGA Show last year. Nearly 50/50 of the votes were voted. Nearly half of voters indicated that they had, while 51% stated they hadn’t.

Tour Edge has recently provided us with the Exotics ExS Driver.

Before we get into the review, let’s start by reviewing the basics of Tour Edge and the information it has about the driver. EXS is available in 9.5 and 10.5 degrees, with the possibility to alter it by adjusting 2 degrees. A head of 460cc. Flight Tuning System is available for the driver. This includes interchangeable weights in 9- and 3-gram grams. A driver is equipped with a 9 gram weight at his heel and a three gram weight at his rear, allowing for a draw bias. New RollFace Technology was added to the head, which is designed for speed. The RollFace Technology incorporates modified bulge and roll on the toe to create straighter shots for shots hit off the toe. With Variable Face Thickness Technology that enhances sweet spots, the EXS driver’s face is more forgiving than any Tour Edge driver.

Tour Edge offers a short video to explain the technology behind the driver.

Share on other sites Posted I tried the EXS last year at PGA store and it hung with all the OEMs that I tried for fraction of the price. I still have a 6 year old Tour Edge XSG7 Beta that hits absolute bombs with pretty solid dispersion so didn’t feel like I needed a change. The EXS and the new Tour Edge will be my options. However, the SIM is a great option once you have an older model.

Tour Edge Exotics Exs 220 Driver Review, Photos And More: Clubtest 2020

ClubTest 2020 was the first time we reviewed and tested 28 new drivers. Below are the results for the Tour Edge Exotics EXS 220 driver.

Prices: 350/BUY NOW Lofts [email protected]@-12@. Our Take: The EXS220’s elongated head-to-back and 9-gram weight back give it a 20% increase in forgiveness compared to the predecessor. The 42 diamond faces technology allows for a wider sweet spot. A sound diffusion system inside the building has helped improve the acoustics.

ClubTester’s (10-hdcp), review: “Maybe the most sounding driver I tested.” If you value feel and acoustics this driver is for you.

Robot’s view: Best at correcting heels hits in the entire group.

Drivers

Is it possible to be a Tour Edge driver?

The results were very good. Although I couldn’t hit all fairways with my best distance, about 80% were within reach. I played a couple of my regular rotation courses and hit my typical landing zones and even exceeded a couple. This driver can compete with the best.

Do Any Pros Play Tour Edge?

TeamTourEdge has a legendary staff of Tom Lehman (Scott McCarron), Tim Petrovic (and Duffy Waldorf). Despite being only four members of staff, nearly 1,000 Tour Edge club have been played by 100 different PGA Tour golfers in the last three seasons.

How Much does a Tour-Edge Driver Cost?

At $299 the Tour Edge EXS has a price point monopoly. Tour Edge EXS is the only 2019 driver to offer the same combination of price and performance within $100. Yet, there’s still the question: How did Tour Edge achieve this?

Which Year Was The Tour Edge Exs Released?

But this does not mean that the limited number of drivers, fairway irons and hybrids made for players on PGA Tour Champions will be available. It is a symbol of how Exotics has been shaping the club industry’s reputation since 2006, when it launched its high-tech Exotics brand.
