Cons

Only a few Ethernet ports are available for main satellite

No backhaul

Wireless mesh device

Wi-Fi 6 (4-stream 2404Mbps 5GHz, 2-stream 574Mbps 2.4GHz)

Two Gigabit Ethernet ports per satellite

Although Wi-Fi 6 has seen a rise in popularity, I have yet to test the TP-Link Deco X60 with any satellites.

This system is also less expensive than other Wi-Fi systems that I have reviewed. That shows how Wi-Fi 6 pricing has begun to fall.

Take

One important thing has changed since I last reviewed the TP-Link mesh routers: the competitive landscape. The price of mesh systems made by Amazon, Google and other companies has fallen, but TP-Link seems to have raised theirs. TP Link meshes are still affordable, though the price difference is not nearly as wide as the other options.

Wi-Fi 6 starts at $250 per two- or three-node mesh. That’s better than most of the competition.

You want Wi Fi 6 now, but are you sure? If you have not upgraded to Wi Fi 6 systems, it’s unlikely. If you’re looking for more Wi-Fi 6, why not?

I avoid devices and services that combine my personal data and then sell it. As near as I can tell, TP-Link doesn’t vacuum up user data for resale. Even though I find the pricing a little less attractive than the original, I prefer the TP Link model.

You are looking for Wi Fi 6 mesh at a low price? The TP-Link Deco X20 and X60 systems are worth a look. These systems have worked for me.

If you’re looking to get your first WiFi, or upgrade an existing one, it is important that the system supports Mesh 6. You will need several nodes even if there isn’t a lot of them, but having the option to add Mesh routing devices to an existing setup can be incredibly useful.

WiFi, without requiring you to hook up to any wired network, has ushered in a new era of technology. A basic wired LAN is still the only way to beat WiFi, and that’s why it was important we choose a router with wired backup.
